She was great! Country music was huge in the late 70's early 80's. I remember the song 9-5 being huge and then she did Islands in the stream with Kenney Rogers.

yes Dolly wrote that song, sang that song, but she was quoted as saying...."Whitney owned it"

Dolly did make money on that song, i believe 10 million dollars (according to a radio talk show...The Red Eye) on at midnight across the country.

They said she had cancer and I didn't know she was ever sick. Wasn't long ago she put her name on that truck stop and appeared fine.

I was shocked. And I'm never shocked.
