Hello good people
I'm the proud owner of a '95 6 pot 814. She's a brilliant beast, but I have a recurring problem with a very heavy clutch - I once broke the pin on the pedal with a very heavy boat on the back, and I don't want to repeat that saga.. Getting into 2nd is now getting tricky, and...
No idea whose brainfart the clutch through the floor, pivoting forward so only 6'6" people with 60" legs can operate it without turning sideways and getting a huge, painful callous on the fourth toe of their left foot, but I hope whoever it was got the reward of being pilloried and burned at the...

In my quest for the best truck school for me I stumbled on this little piece of information... There is a school called IITR in Clakamas, OR that has a double clutch simulator... Double clutching is my biggest challenge hands down... I was taught the gear float method from my ex-employer and am...

I have a Detroit in my truck and the clutch fan stopped working today. Any help in diagnosing the problem? The clutch fan is about 2 years old. My fan is also the opposite of most fans. It requires air to turn it on. I think most others turn on when there is a lack of air to it?

Who has done their own work? Especially, if it was on a Cat. C 15. A lot of my friction material is missing and it seem to be leaking air. I need to get it done soon. I'm an average mechanic, though I have a background in machining and gunsmithing. I'm used to working on things smaller than...

Hi,
I have an older 9200. When I am completely stopped at a stop sign and engage the clutch brake it takes 3 to 4 seconds for the input shaft to stop turning. Is that a reasonable amount of time or is my clutch brake worn?
Thanks,
3220

Hi! My truck has a Spicer Angle Spring twin disc clutch with the quik-adjust. The adjuster has been getting tighter and now it will not turn any more when I try to adjust the clutch.
Does this mean that the clutch is nearing the end of its service life? Should I try and force the adjuster to...
I know drivers that double clutch, but my instructor was adamant about only using the clutch to get into first gear.
His claim was that RPM's are the secret and I must admit that he could shift as smooth as silk, up or down, with one finger.
What's your opinon/preference?
Thanks,
Pat
