Hello good people
I'm the proud owner of a '95 6 pot 814. She's a brilliant beast, but I have a recurring problem with a very heavy clutch - I once broke the pin on the pedal with a very heavy boat on the back, and I don't want to repeat that saga.. Getting into 2nd is now getting tricky, and I'm wondering if its the ball joint at the intersection of the clutch rod (please excuse my ameuteur terminology) and arm into the gear box - see attached.
Could anyone say if this is the problem or is it a symptom of under greases thrust bearing? I haven't Checked this lately.. Partly because I can't recall it's exact location or how to remove and re-grease.
Any suggestions welcome and greatly appreciated - also recommendations if the community feels I'm asking in the wrong forum, where to look for answers.
All the best,
Milo814
