"WTF" Things Wheel Holders Do

I think Ducky's been driving a sissy autoshift. In my truck, you have to push the clutch pedal to the floor or it won't start.
Really ought to make sure the transmission is in neutral as well.

OK... how about the hotshot that forgets to set his brake on a very slight grade, and walks away from the truck? That's got to be fairly common... I've seen a lot of unfortunate endings to that one.

Moi, found himself chasing the truck one afternoon... fortunately, I caught up to it in one of those Hanna Barberra moments. The burned finger teaches best?

Yup rookie, a force...

Okay, I didn't set this thread up to go over wrecks or bash Swift. We have several threads for that. We also already have several (many) threads in which to bash Swift.

I set this up to talk about mistakes made during "ground" tasks that cause injuries and sometimes death, like being in front of the trailer tires hanging off the tandem pin pull handle when somebody else is moving the truck.

If you guys want to nag each other about other stuff, post pictures of stupid shit that dummies do when they're driving or bitch about one company or another, please feel free to do it in another thread. If it doesn't stop here, I will delete the thread and new people won't have the opportunity to see why these actions are stupid.

The idea here is to prevent injury or death with information.

Notice that all the pics posted are dry van drivers... I'm sure there's bad flatbed drivers as well, but just saying.

If you're thinking because there are much more van drivers vs. flatbeds, then you should also know that Swift drivers represent a sampled population of all drivers, meaning what Swift drivers do, rest of the drivers do as well (proportionally).

Seems innocent enough.

But the guy high centered it on the landing gear making the corner. When I left, the wrecker had just showed up to pull him off.

Cant read the sign. Does it happen to say watch cornering for high centering??

We had to pull an OC off a hill. Should have gotten a pic of his truck stranded and the three foot sign saying "TRUCKS DO NOT EXIT THIS WAY"

I was more interested in the truck and folks figuring it out. Never noticed that sign.

Up top, he signs all said one way. And this guy is going the wrong way.

Reinhart foods in Louisville TN.

Like I mentioned earlier... READ the signs! They're probably tryin' to tell ya something.

I was going the right way when I went in.

Looking at the top there when I drove down, there's plenty of room to swing it wide and not even consider hanging up.

Not sure why he was going against traffic either.

And a Reinhardt driver:bonk:

If your heading on the other side of the plateau give a yell.
I'm already back in center land. Went to Boston to address truck issues.....

Who'd a thunk correcting your revs per mile to make your speedo correct would impact your fuel mileage .3-.4 mpg.

Radar has confirmed over time my GPS is right.

I figured I was about a 2.9% error on speed and that gave me the 523 revs/mile.
