"WTF" Things Wheel Holders Do

Seen a lot of mega fleets lately with their drivers sounding the horn when the drivers release brakes, setting brakes and backing up.:headscratch2:

Reinhardt's last week I saw all of those. At crystal geyser and again at market basket in Tewkesbury this week.

That was Old School Trainee.....put the 4 ways on and blast the airhorn before popping the clutch....at bar closing time in the SUICIDE alleydock around the streched Long Nose at the Pee-Lot

Ya "behind" the TIMES bro....

The NEW thing is Backing ALARMS.....

Anytime the tranny is in R goes BEEP BEEP BEEP ....sounds like an amplified Smoke Alarm...

Might be some good reason those "wheel holders" are sounding their horns:

I would have posted more, but I'm in a bad area and started getting false server errors.

Swift was involved in something like these some years ago: Driver was hooking to a trailer and a warehouse employee stepped between the tractor and trailer. Killed the warehouse guy. The driver was found to have been innocent in this accident. That's when the honk your horn policy went in. Once bitten..

So, make fun all you want to. When you're the guy on the ground not paying attention, you'll be happy the driver made some noise so you'd look up.

I have a back up alarm on my truck.
But when I have to back out of the drive at 3 in the morning,it tends to piss off the the folks in the hood.

So,I just put a switch in line and can turn it off if needed.

They are annoying, but they do get your attention .

Fer Christs sake... we're just thinin' out th' herd a little! If yer stupid enough ta walk behind a backing truck, we need ta remove yer genes from the' collective!

:D

I just hope the driver wasn't hurt to bad.

I sure alot of those pallets were singled out on a 53. It sure opened up that trailer.

I rolled over a few years ago in my buddies jeep. We slid sideways and hit the snow bank then up and over the side and down. Not sure how many times we rolled. Fire department said if we had not been wearing our seat belts we both would have gone out the side window and crushed. We had a case of beer in the back. All the cans opened up and sprayed us. I was surprised they didn't check us for DUI. He said that happens all the time in a roll over.

I80 near Evanston, WY.

Alot of bud lite drinkers crying tonite.
You know we make fun of situations like this (rightfully so....to an extent).

But do you think that Jerry and his people must some times just throw their hands up and say "feck it...we give up".

I mean look at all this damage...2 trailers, a tractor (ok....looks like a lease truck) and 2 loads damaged/delayed.
Customer confidence takes a hit.
And for what?
I wasn't there but I've been out there (the road) long enough to give it a pretty good guess......

Tailgating/lack of attention and road/traffic conditions bit them in the ass.

Completely feckin preventable!

You know this happens all the time not just to Swift but all the mega's.

Hate to sound like I'm crying for the rich but this is just STUPIDITY!!!
