Where Are You Parked Tonight? Check-In Thread

Made it to Hooks, TX. It was getting close to dark, and since I'm scared of the dark, figured I better park. still 196 to delivery, but don't have to be there till 1000.

Somewheres past Galesburg Illinois.

I'm about 45 minutes away from my delivery so a good spot to pull off est my leftover Subway and lay down take a snooze.

Afew hours I'll get up and head the rest of way into Davenport.

Why you afraid of the dark.

I prefer driving while everyone else is sleeping.

Nice to just set my cruise instead of play games with abuncha morons every other half mile or so

Finished my delivery now they want me to deadhead to Des Moines drop empty and Hook a loaded trailer to bring back to Twin Cities yard

Gonna grab some coffee and get rolling.

I don't like the eye strain anymore. Can't see much past your headlights.

Although I dunno if I could get into it again if I had projector headlights. Maybe.

I guess I find the daytime traffic more irritating than the darkness.

As long as I wear my glasses I do fine.

My headlights are much brighter too since they redid the assembly because they didn't have the Wierd bulbs that kept burning out.

Now I just got standard headlights and they are much better than the goofy ones it originally had.

Made it to Marietta, OK. with only about 10 minutes to spare.

Was moving along just fine this morning til I got close to Clarksville, TX. Log truck hit a car. Suggested moving log truck enough so traffic could alternate by and got a deer in the headlights look. Cop finally showed up, volunteer fire dept started showing up. Cop told truck driver to move truck to one side. He still looked retarded but finally figured it out.

Oncoming traffic got through, then we got through. I was pushing this idea to move truck because I knew it would be all over once the wreckers showed up.

Finally got moving, just in time to make OTD.

Projectors are a game changer. I feel like I'm driving while blind without them.

Silt, CO having breakfast. Ran up the mountain last night to avoid likely chain laws this morning, ran out of hours on Vail Pass. Not a preferred spot to sleep, but it beat throwing iron.

On to Rifle to unload, then back to Mile High.

Just hooked my loaded.

Once again learned why it's always wise to jump out and look before backing under.

Forgot and almost king-pinned the sob.

Thank fully that didn't happen because it's much easier to crank a loaded down than to crank it up.

Yup that's my Dumbass moment for the day

Booked a load in Denton, TX. Last minute sort of thing for a good rate. Or so I thought.

Arrived to see 8 trucks in front of me, had to park in the center turn lane on the street because the entire drive was blocked with trucks. All for one company, an led there was about 4 other companies that had to share this area, lol.

Walked to the shipper. Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged. Gave pickup number. Shipper laughed. I didn’t think anything was funny. Told me my appointment wasn’t until 1500 and they are hours behind. Proceeded to ask for my driver’s license and pickup number, and that I would need to go to a truck stop until they called me.

At that point, I laughed. And left.

Called broker, told them to find somebody else, at which point they said the shipper could find someone else because I wasn’t the only truck he has dealing with the their. I was just the only truck that left, lol.

Found a different load for tomorrow that takes me up to Muskogee, and I’ll bounce to the house after that.

Maybe they send 8 trucks for 5 loads so if afew kick they got back up.

Are ya atleast getting Deadhead Pay or ya on your own and screw ya basically?

Didn’t hurt me.
Wasn’t planning on getting loaded today, and it was en route to where I am ultimately going now anyway.
Lemme guess towards "Home".

I could get back home but the last Official Hometime stayed like almost 2 weeks.

Now they giving me the Buisness about 8/10 thousand miles per month and 1 off day for every three.

If they would just "Terminate" my Stupid @$$ why I'd go get my $300 aweek unemployment "juice" and Biden extended Obamacare sign-up until June.

I can count on less than one hand how many trucking jobs ever legitimately Fired my @$$.

What they start doing is making your life so Miserable enough that ya just say F-word it and Quit.

Now ya can get fired and collect.

If ya Straight Up "Quit" your job you are "Fecees word outta luck" and you'll be working at a Temp Service and donating plasma.

Moonlighting on the side towards a bigger load to cover expenses?
?

I dropped one load because there was no telling when it would actually be ready to load, and booked another one instead. The first load was supposed to pick up in Denton. From where I was originally, I would have had to go through Denton anyway to get the load I am doing now, or just about any other load as most of them were in the Dallas area.

If it all worked out anyways I'm happy 4 ya.
