What would you do if faced with nobody available to unload your truck?

This got posted on Facebook, but the original poster never responded with where it came from, so possibly fake. Regardless, makes for a good "what if" scenario. So, what would you do?

I would hand bomb the load (if it is possible) in the parking lot charge a driver assist to my company and my company can invoice them for driver assist.

Would get unloaded faster that's for sure. Unless it's a floor load.

I’d back in, grab the nearest forklift and unload that shit into a pile on the dock.

Otherwise, it’s getting a picture taken of it and then going to a secure storage and they can take it up with the broker.

Or pull away from the dock and lump the load of lettuce out onto the ground in the snow in Montreal. I mean it’s happened before. Js

I'd unload it & leave it on the dock. If they want it restacked & /or put away they better be paying me cash.

i been unloading, and reloading my trailers for the past several years. heavy stuff too, like black pipe, large wooden reels of cable, and pallets of nuts and bolts.

Chances are I’d git it done faster if I did it myself anyways. Then I can git on to the other 20 stops

Back in the 80’s I ran into that problem in Greencastle, PA. Fortunately, although my dry box was full front to back and top to bottom, there was only 17 rolls of microfoam in the trailer. That would have sucked if it was a reefer full….

I have a little bit of privilege being as I have all access to all buildings and every dock.
So I talked to the receiver and said I have one skid for you.
He told me he was on lunch.

Np problem I chucked the boxes on the floor and the skid on top of the boxes and the shrink wrap on top of that.
He got to restack that skid. No he is not going to call the boss and complain because he would have to explain why the did not unload the skid.

So the next day he calls me and says he needs this component ASAP.
I told him I was on lunch.

This happened to me 30+ years ago. Some meat wholesaler in Jersey City. I was told 8 am appointment, get there to find out FCFS, so I was the last truck. They only allowed the lumpers yo work 2 trucks per day, and they were used up by the time it was my turn.

You can unload a full load of boxed beef in less than an hour, by yourself. It wasn't fun, but it got done.

30+ years ago, I could have done that too. Not so sure anymore. This getting old shit isn't what they said it would be.

I did that at a Sam's Club. They all disappeared when I bumped the dock. It was Walmart meat so it was supposed to get all hands on deck.

I found a pallet jack, staged it on the dock, and told them they either get on it or explain to their superiors why 4 pallets of meat and 6 pallets of produce were lost to spoilage on their watch. Either way, I'm leaving.

I think I got maybe 2 pallets off before they came running.
