Exactly..., why is there a need to attract more females.... Or Mormons....or whatever?? How about we just get the industry to focus on attracting, and retaining, quality drivers regardless of whatever other classification they are?
because our society has become too politically correct that we need to make sure we have X amount of certain people hired at a company.

Do we really need to gender balance everything in life right down to the razor?
If a woman wants to truck, all the power to her. I'd wish her good luck. But I wouldn't want to go out of my way to sell anyone, man or woman on a trucker's life.

I hate to agree but you're absolutely correct.Blacks use the race card all the time when in reality theyre not treated any different then whites.Women thinks the company singles them out because they are required to do what men do and that's so not the case.Read the job description either do it or find a job they're more suitable to do.Yeah if the workforce doesn't reflect the exact demographics of the area the business is in, it's raaaaacist.

I do see alot of jobs that are basically for men far as when it comes to me because I am not physically able to do it and I'm not going to risk having a heart attack.I have trouble breathing and I've cut down on my smoking considerably.So until I get better I cant do many jobs unless it's basically just driving.I don't see many women in the construction driving field.LTL driving,local FedEx or UPS and suspect never will.Yeah if the workforce doesn't reflect the exact demographics of the area the business is in, it's raaaaacist.

I use the Race-Card too if i anyone pulls it. Just start talking to him and if he doesnt joins the Conversation i ask if he is Racist, "Not talking with White Man". On one Time all Black left the Company out of Protest. Didnt bother anyone,and they were back soon,much more Friendly

Actually when it comes to the law and hiring practices they're not treated any differently but they are still subject to racism, or more specifically, prejudice even when people don't realize it.
My dad's best friend is black. He had two airplanes stored here with the wings off, and wanted to come get his red one & bring it home to clean it up & sell it. It's wings were already in his garage, it was just the fuselage that was here.
The Geezer was in Virginia so I helped him get it out of the chicken coop & loaded onto his trailer. But then I noticed his trailer had a flat tire he hadn't noticed until we put weight on it.
So we took it to get it fixed & then stopped at Farm & Fleet.
In line at the register, the white guy in his 20's ahead of us in line set off the security alarm in the doorway. A cashier in another line simply waved him through & said "sometimes cell phones set those things off".
5 minutes later, the tag on the hammer drill Ozell bought set it off.
3 guys surrounded him & looked at his receipt and looked through his cart and one of them took the hammer drill and waved it between the sensors to confirm that's what set it off, then held onto it on the other side of the sensors while Ozell walked through it.
Then Ozell whipped in to the little mom & pop Andy Griffith themed restaurant he & my dad frequent for breakfast.
Of course, the staff were fine but all the old, gray haired white customers were staring at Ozell the whole time.
I don't think Ozell even noticed that stuff. He's 70 years old, probably used to it or thinks it's normal.

We are a prejudiced society in whole. When I was in college in the 80's we were taught to profile. It ain't right now but I admit I still do. Preservation instint kicks in - sorry, I'm hard wired... Wait, do I really have to apologize?

If you're walking down the street and see a shady looking character approaching, your "profiling" might save your life, depending on how you choose to act based on said profiling.
It's no different than seeing a rattlesnake in your path and thinking "if I walk past that thing, it'll probably bite me".
It's nothing to apologize for. I never will.
Some it'll the more radical leftists think I should apologize for being born with a light skin complexion.

Nothing at all. I'm not the type that cares what goes on in other people's bubbles as long as you don't bump into mine but giving special consideration because of gender just seems well sexist to both male and female. The job is what the job is do it or don't do it it is completely up to each individual

I beat the pavement many times in my life time for a job. I heard every excuse possible for not being hired.....even been turned down before I ever handed in the application for the job.
Finally got so discussed I just went into business for myself. Done just fine.
Made myself my own job.....with no boss, no rules, no regulations ect.
I am retired now but still would open my own business should retirement funds dry up.
