Water or Coke?

The job paid $12.00 an hour in the early 70's when minimum wage was 98 cents an hour...Most of my friends were partying and working at McDonalds for peanuts...I always placed a higher value on my labor than that.

I was making close to $400 a week while they were making $25 a week.....I was always taught that I could get whatever I wanted if I worked hard enough....I worked hard enough.

The first truck was 10 years old and cost me $6500 and the second was 5 years old and cost me $8500....The new Kenworth was $42,000 and the trailer was $10,500, I financed that truck with a substantial down payment at the time of the order....At 20 years old and with no credit history, It was no easy task!

I paid cash for my 1999 KW and just paid cash for my 2007 Fontaine Trailer. It can be done at any age.
I own then outright and can back it up against a fence and plant flowers in it if I want to.
With respect to rigs, there is no better feeling than looking at something that no bank can ever take away..

I bet that is what you are having right now too.

Why as a matter-of-fact it is. I put butter pecan creamer in it. I am also partial to the almond joy creamer as well. Folgers gourmet coffee has a chocolate truffle flavored coffee that I buy when I feel like indulging myself. We take flavored creamers in to work to keep ourseleves hopping on the nightshift. That coffee pot is running nonstop all night long. I like coffee so much I will drink decaf when I get home so that I can sleep during the day. I try to make sure that I eat enough cheese, yogurt and milk products as I know the caffiene will leach the calcium out of my bones. I have seen enough osteporosis in the elderly that I am trying to make sure that I don't end up that way. Plus I always take a vitamin D supplement so to help the calcium do what it needs to do. Getting older isn't what it is cracked up to be.

PowerAde Zero.

Yep. Adulterated water.

For the record, the electrolytes found in sport drinks really don't ammount vto much. I'm fully aware of that myself, but I don't drink it for the electrolytes. I drink it because I like the flavor.

Might as well mix up some KoolAde and put a little salt in it. Same results.

Powerade is "da bomb". My local grocery store has it on sale from time to time for like $0.59 per 32oz. bottle if you buy 10 you get 5 free. That's when I stock up. We get like 3 or 4 of each flavor. My kids and I drink it all the time. My favorite is the white one, used to be called "arctic shatter" now it's called "cherry" somethin. Soooo much better than soda. I will be takin a bunch with me when I go OTR.

Anybody ever run out of Coke or Pepsi and the only thing available was DIET crap, and then try to fix it by adding sugar?

Instant mess.

I wonder what would happen if you were to get a 2-liter of diet Pepsi and drop sugar cubes into it, then immediately put the cap on, shake it up and toss it in the yard.

I know for a fact that a 2-liter bottle will hold up to 120 psi. (Don't ask)

If you put the right amount of drain cleaner containing hydrochloric acid into a 2-liter bottle, then drop in a bunch of strips of aluminum foil, cap it and toss it, after about a minute or so it'll blow up.

I suppose Drano and water would do the same thing. Drano is dehydrated hydrochloric acid powder, mixed with aluminum shavings. When it mixes with water, it re-hydrates the acid and it gets to work eating up the aluminum. But I never tried it.

I lost interest in the 2-liter bottle bombs when my high school shop teacher showed us what you can do with a balloon full of oxygen & acetylene.

Diet Coke about all I'll drink as far a soft drinks go. Even after a diet coke goes flat it still tastes the same. When we take are cruise every Jan. I'll drink the regular Cokes in the Caribbean Island or in Mexico because they are still made with real sugar and not that high fructose corn crap.

most of the time water...or tea sweetened with Stevia.... or diet mtn dew when i am workin , coke makes me more thirsty and dont like the taste....

DIET COKE FOR ME ONLY. no water, I don't like water it all.
Let me find my psychology hat.. there it is... The problem here is that you have trained yourself or addicted yourself to only want sweet sugary water. Without water you would die. Often people are thirsty when they mistake that for hunger.... By feeding what is actually a thirst problem the body tricks the mind into eating so it will engage water to wash it down.....
