Vaping like a skinny jeans wearing, man bun sporting, beard having, murse carrying hipster tool.

@ironpony I know that your heart and mind are in the right place. I'm totally on your side. I think nicotine products, all of them, are terrible. I just hope that folks exercise caution when wielding their torches marching towards Frankenstein's castle. This is the wrong enemy.

You mistake my point... I don't think vaping will be banned or anything like that. This is just one of those deals where in the effort to vilify everything about the government as "bad," one of the useful functions of government - the FDA keeping an eye on food and drug manufacturers - was so diminished that what would have previously not taken forever is going to drag on because the basic homework on vaping products just wasn't done. That's probably where the monied corruption took place, because Big Tobacco is involved.

I'm definitely with you. I'm not mistaking any of your points, but to be fair to any of us it's kinda hard to keep track of all your points. And I'm on board with most of them. Wish like hell kids never had access to nicotine, it's a garbage habit I deeply regret. They're gonna get it no matter what, cuz they're kids. Anything that is taboo, they want it. They'll find a way. I was finding a way to get smokes at 15, I was getting served in bars at 17. You can't stop it unless you ban everything. Have fun with the black market that will explode as a result, and crime that will as well. Also agree with you that the FDA is hamstrung, and I agree with your reasoning. Hell I'll even jump on the vape ban bandwagon as long as smoking gets banned in the same bill. Until that happens, I'll fight. Until someone in power makes a real stance not based on bribe money, this is the broken system we have.

My point is, how is the vaping industry hurting them when they own such a huge stake in the industry?
How are independent drivers and small fleets hurting Big Trucking (ATA) when they own such a huge stake in the industry? And yet they lobby for things that harm the industry as a whole, because they know they're big enough to survive.

Not related to what I was asking. OP said the tobacco industry was hurting because of vaping, but the tobacco industry owns a very large portion of the vaping industry as well.

Totally related. It's big business harming their own industry because they know it'll kill off their competition and help them out in the end.

I was simply debating the comment about tobacco struggling because of the vaping craze. The tobacco industry is doing just fine. I’m not touching your conspiracy about sabotage.

That's silly. I just wanna kill this habit. Speaking of which, I'm gonna go have a Newport and get ready to roll. I went from two packs a day to a pack every 3 or 4 days. Did that in a couple weeks.

I think that's great.

That reminds me of my two co-workers who died in their 40's-50's respectively.
Both were Vapors, both had other health issues, but I distinctly remember the one who quit smoking
altogether, but would vape like their was no tomorrow.

I just remember the very deep inhales he would constantly pull from his vape mod. And when I
learned just recently that one of the dangers of vaping is a collapsed lung, that made me think
of my co-worker, who was found dead in a parking lot in his car.

I dunno what’s in vape juice but it makes me ill. I’ll stick to my occasional cigar. I quit cigarettes in 2008 and don’t plan to return to them.

I dunno though. I think that normal vaping is better than smoking for most. My mom has vaped for close to ten years. Uses a pen mod or a circo or whatever alto makes these days. I really think most of the health issues in the severe to deadly category are from the bigger mods. Customer mixed and home made liquids ect. This is just my opinion. I am sure studies will prove whatever eventually.

To say the FDA hasn’t had time to look at this product is bullshit though as the first e-cig came out in the 60s

Now see, the way I’ve understood it these last few weeks is the THC and the storebought JUUL type stuff, along with the black market stuff is the problem.

THC carts can be modified, juul carts can be modified, black market....you see a trend buddy?

I don’t know anything about the JUUL and such so I’d guess anything could be possible.

Stupid as this all seems it’s not new.

I remember when Red Bull first came out an Australian kid drank 9 in a row and died and people wanted them banned.

There's always something fruitcakes want banned.

They want to ban meat. Ban rock music. Ban patriotism. Ban white men from holding elected office. Ban Bibles. Ban soft drinks. Ban plastic straws. Ban air travel. Ban piston engines. Ban fossil fuels. Ban free speech. Ban firearms. Ban alcohol. Ban sugar. Ban processed foods. Ban high fructose corn syrup. Ban GMO produce. Ban rain barrels. Ban tinted car windows. Ban flowers and other harmless plants. Ban DDT. Ban aerosol cans. Ban freon. Ban pit bulls. Ban leaf burning. Ban smoking.

So why is it surprising every time they add another thing to the list of things they want to ban in this "free country"?

Ban plastic straws

Ok so there are a couple cities in the Deep South that have done this. Tampa is one. The paper straws they have replaced plastic ones with suck and if your drinking water it makes it taste super weird. And the metal ones creep me out. Some kid is going to be walking and drinking and fall and end up with that shit outthe opposite side of their neck.

My wife got us some metal ones that are bent at the top. She carries them with us and washes them. They make my drink seems colder so I like them. She actually sells the things in her kitchen gadget sales business.

I haven’t tried a metal one. I have seen them like I said they creep me out lol.

I can't fathom how much of a passive little b**** someone has to be to actually obey the plastic straw bans. These are the kind of laws that people should laugh at and ignore. They are nothing more than an exercise in sheep herding. To see who cowardly obeys their petty nuisance laws.

That would be the restaurant or whatever you’re at. Your only other choice is to drink straigh from the cup which if you’re getting it to go provides its own challenge. I can run a couple travel mugs just so I don’t have to drink with a stupid paper straw.
