Another Acert bites the dust
The way the potus describes the order is that unmoderated forums will still have legal protections. In this situation, I will say that Twitter is at fault.
Why? Because Trump is the only person to receive a fact check ever on their platform.
And let’s remember, I am not talking about just the United States when I say he is the only one, we must include the leaders of countries all over the world. Some very corrupt leaders posting absolute lies about all sorts of things, and they decide to do this.
That is as far as I am going with it politically though, because my concern isn’t politics. My concern is, this executive order goes after something that was intended to protect owners of websites like the one I have here.
There has been a push from both sides of the political isle to get rid of this protection, mostly from the democratic side. The recent social media attacks toward only republicans is likely enough to bring the bipartisan support to kill the protection we have had since 1996. If it does, that could be the end of forums like this.
So, yeah. Thanks to the social media giants who have decided to start playing political favorites and try to sway the public with their newfound power. You likely just changed the landscape of the internet in a bad way.
