There is no question is it possible. I think the question is how slow is too slow and who decides? Your grandmother probably could have beaten that ticket (with a good lawyer), unless a minimum speed limit was posted. Many interstates are posted with a minimum speed limit of 45mph.

I think the only reason they have a minimum speed limit is for bad weather. If the snow/ice/wind or whatever is so bad you can't safely go 45 mph, it's time to park it. That's usually what I do. If I can't safely go 50 mph on the interstate, it's not worth my log hours.

It depends on how far the slow-poke is going and how long it takes to get around him. In rural areas, people are usually going pretty far.

The majority of my 2-lane driving is done in Iowa. There's a reason why it's acronym nickname is "Idiots Out Wandering Around".

It only seems far because they are going so slow. If they are driving farm equipment, then you are just SOL because they are in the right. ...and don't bite the hand that feeds you.

All I really need is orange juice. But I drink coffee too just because I like it when my veins are bulging and my heart rate is keeping pace with the drum solo at the beginning of "Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen.

Farm tractors aren't hard to get around, actually, because they go so slow that it only takes a second to get around them. Most of the time I don't even have to slow down all the way to their speed if there's nobody coming the other way.

LOL , Its been a long time since I have heard about running the front door/back door or even the rocking chair . Oddly enough now it's all about fuel economy even though the speed limits have been raised . Back in the day it was the double nickle on the Intertsate and we ran 60 - 65 and a lot faster than that . Oh memories .

Tell that to the idiots who get in everybody's way going slow. I won't tailgate but they'll still get my high-beams in the rear view mirror if they insist upon holding up traffic.

I understand how irritating it is when someone is going slower than the normal flow traffic. It also annoys me to have to be behind someone like this and you can't get around them because they are in the left lane. But on another note.....
you are saying you wouldn't tailgate...... but would rather blind someone with your highbeams so they end up crashing into a tree or the person ahead of them Can't flash your headlights in case they didn't notice you were behind them?

What I meant to ask is, Why am I seeing trucks driving side by side in both the left lane and right lane? Could it be a safety tactic to prevent Mr. or Ms. "I'm in a hurry. Get out of my way" motorists from causing an accident?

This is to ensure that both trucks crash when one retarded van driver breaks loose and crashes into the other sideways.

I usually do if they're blocking the hammer lane. A quick flash of the high beams usually gets them to move out of the way. I don't put them on and leave them on unless the slow poke does something ignorant to show that he's being an ass on purpose, like slow down even more or flash his brake lights every 10 seconds. And that's rare because I don't tailgate. Although a big truck does seem intimidating in the rearview mirror of a car even when it's at a safe following distance.

One time I rented a car to get from my company's VA terminal to my sister's house in Virginia Beach and there was a traffic jam and the idiot in the Pete 379 behind me insisted on having his front bumper 3 feet from my car. I know he can't even see the roof of the car in that thing because I've driven a 379 before. Eventually I got out of the car during one of the momentary dead-stops in the traffic jam and yelled "WHAT THE F*** IS YOUR PROBLEM" at the guy and he ended up staying further back.

Why do you flatbed/oversize guys always gotta be ripping on the van drivers? It doesn't say "Werner" or "Swift" on the side of any trailer I've ever pulled.

Today, I saw a flatbed with his load of lumber totally exposed while his tarp was flapping around in the wind and dragging on the ground 40 feet behind him. 2 weeks ago I saw a truck hauling a windmill blade being pulled out of a ditch on I-80 in Iowa. Another time I saw a wide load stopped on the shoulder about 500 yards past a smashed up generator powered portable sign that had been on the shoulder.
