Although it is humorous in the sense that as many times is the federal government screwed the tribes, this time it's the tribes doing the screwing.

Unfortunately, since they redid the highway, there's plenty of the same kinds of idiots that have made I-80 the cluster it has become.

I feel for those folks who built that new truck stop in Belle, there won't be much truck traffic left going that way

Xtrra miles sure but I can do that in about the "Same" Time as 212 down to 90 and 60 back to 35W...

Once coming eastbound in the middle of the night I got off on the exit BEFORE 212. Half asleep.

I made the left and thought “oh shit this ain’t right.”

It was pretty puckering. Lots of local were roaming around drinking. A few of them yelled at the truck while I was trying to get turned around...

I'd never run 90 to MSP from Billings. I have run US12 from miles city over, but usually because I had a drop across South Dakota somewhere.

If I'm loading at 3M in Hutchinson I usually went back out 60 so I could take a Nap at the Rest Area past St James and grab a coffee at Holidays in Worthington..

That said 3M Hutchinson loads go to Ontario California so I wasn't really Outta Route....

Off of 3M sort of Adopted that Nap and Holiday Mart ran 60 to 14 then 90 got "SCREWED"

That's just an advisory. What authority do these tribes have over a federal highway?
I'd just say fuck it and run it. Just don't drive like a jackass to antagonize them.

Federal law treats the Indian Tribes as sovereign nations. 212 cuts through the Northen Cheyenne and Blackfoot Reservations, consequently you're not in the United States (kinda - it's complicated) on their land. Because of that, if they want to restrict the road... they can.

There's a lot of really bad feelings towards whites up there a consequence of treating Native Americans like shit for so many years. If some of the kids want to fuck up your truck... you get to complain to the tribal police. AKA their older brothers. You probably aren't going to get much sympathy.

You want my advice? Find another route.
