Yes they should be DQ'D and I am pretty sure the FAA physical has no waiver. Plenty of ways to make a living where is no risk to me or my family.
And yes Duck I think there should be disqualifying illness for any license. Narcolepsy, and Epilepsy at the top of the list followed by being a Democrat.....
Bear in mind I have always said and will continue to advocate for the removal of the 30-35% of people that have no business being behind the wheel of a big wheel let alone a motor vehicle on a public road.

I'm just waiting for some idiots to suggest that all Christians be banned from the roads because there will be so many unoccupied vehicles when the rapture occurs.

Sort of not true. A CDL is only required if your involved with commercial operations. When I was into horses many pulled a 53' horse trailer that had 4 to 6 horses in the back plus a good sized apartment and a ton of equipment with a sleeper truck.

I came close to flaming you, but I have too much respect for you to do that. I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes over a dozen years ago. With medication (not insulin), diet, and exercise my levels can be controlled. I know when my sugar level gets too low by the way I feel. I always have something sugary to take when I feel my level is too low.
Frankly, I am confused that the guy had low blood sugar when he apparently didn't know he was diabetic. As far as I know, diabetes is a condition that occurs when the body can not handle the high sugar levels in the blood. If he was diabetic, and didn't know it, what caused his sugar level to be so low?

People who have had 3 or more moving violations in the last 5 years should not be allowed to drive anything with a motor in public--obviously

speaking of which let me just point out that pilots have to(I would love to learn to fly)
you see it gets ridiculous. How about what you do at the wheel is your responsibility. It doesn't matter if you rear end a limo because you were too sick, to tired, too distracted to drive. "YOU" REARENDED A LIMO!!!!!!! What has happened to my country? I am surrounded by people who want the government to baby-sit them and tell them if its okay to do this or that and help me I am poor and too ugly to get a job because the patriarchal system hates women with freckles etc. Suck it up and do the right thing people. If you are too sick to drive, you take responsibility for grounding yourself. Uncle Sam shouldn't have to be the one to check your blood sugar. If you CAUSE a wreck or lose control, it is your responsibility no matter the underlying circumstance. not saying that was @Injun's point. just say'n.
