I just thought about this yesterday since the calendar just rolled over again.
I can hardly remember the last time I renewed and I'm not due for another year and a half.
I renew in 2017 and won't be due again until I'm 68...
then 74...
o_O
But I still won't have to take a road test.
 
Yeah they tried getting that through in Florida before I left. Politicians dropped that one quick when AARP got wind of it. States Attorney said they could not because other states do not have a classification for reciprocity.

All for weight and size class license.

The Bill of Rights has nothing to do with a driving privilege.

And yeah some personal responsibility would be great. No more drunks, dope heads, welfare brood mares ,social security, disability, uninsured motorists..... oh the list of irresponsible scumbags goes on and on and on.......

Since they do not seem to pay attention we should just remove them from the roads.

So just for starters are you planning to decline SS on moral grounds when the time comes?

And what about those of us without medical insurance?
Do you support the ACA ?
And if not what is your (realistic) solution equivalent to removing us from becoming a public liability?
 
We have been over why SS is immoral, and illegal for anyone but the Federal Government to institute. Well it is illegal for them but everyone gives them a pass.

But to answer your question yes I would walk away right now. I have no expectation that it will exist when or if I ever retire. A ponsi scheme can only hold so long.

Affordable Care Act?????Seriously? No I do not support it or any government interference in a private sector. Especially when it institutes price controls that do nothing but raise prices and create lethargic bueracracies to justify the inflation.

Private charity now covers the truly needy, and will continue to do so. All the Government programs stemming from LBJ's War on Poverty were supposed to end hunger and disease for the huddled undeserved masses. What was that statistic you threw out the other day 20% of children are starving. Huh so how about we quit encouraging the brood mares to download better benefits by cutting them the hell off.

Private charity will cover the truly needy just as it does now with local food banks, and people will actually have more of their own damn money when we quit spending it not just on the recipients but the Volgan Class officiating the disbursement( Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy read it ).

I have repeatedly said the best answer for roads is to privatize them but asshole slam shut so hard over that idea my keyboard bends. Government sucks at running things. But certain things we have no alternative. Military, Roads, and in larger areas Fire and Law Enforcement. But outside of those narrow bounds we should not have Government involvement.

I have always wanted to see that. People make a big deal about Schneider road testing the drivers every year, I think it is a great idea.

I didn't ask whether you would walk away at this point.
I asked whether you will refuse the checks on moral grounds once you have been forced to contribute until you qualify for benefits.

Sure because there is not going to be any benefits @Blood. The math does not lie. Another 15 years and SS as it stands will cave. Soon after the stock markets are gonna tank as a mass sell off from retiree's hits. Gonna be a bunch of dead broke people looking to the Government for relief and your gonna see a comple tree shift over to a pure socialist republic.

It can not hurt. We get "observations" a couple times a year. Like a driving test but you do not know your being tested. They pick a store and whoever gets that run has CSAP behind them and waiting at the store. You get a grade and all.

Yep therefore instead of the gov taking people's blood pressure just hold them responsible for what they do.

Nope. That is government overreach. I would go to war for that. Instead just don't give a handout. Most people learn to fend for themselves if they have to. All this coddling makes people habitually dependent.
 
Sure right up until they ask for privilege. We have every right to control who has access to the roads, and what level of access they have.
