The Truckers Forum Needs A Photo Of Your Truck!

Snow? That would be counter-productive. It would scare people away!
I was trying to compete with trucker101, but being from Alberta, he probably sees more in a week than I do all year.

If Mike wants me to basically copy the general layout and design of this image, here's what I'll need in a photo:
I put this in Photoshop and used the color sampling tool and kept clicking around until I determined where that beige background color's 6 digit color code begins to change. I put a vertical red line there to indicate where I believe the left edge of the Jeep photo was before they faded it into transparency.
If you'll notice, the subject of the picture, the Jeep, is right of center. It doesn't have to be that far to the right but I need some room on the left for the fade, or part of the truck will end up faded with it and it won't look right.

Here's a quick mock-up of what it might look like if I used Racer's pic. Of course, the words and fonts will be different, as well as the background color. And if there's an ad on the left side, it will probably not be quite so honest. And if there's a "click to join" type of button, it won't be part of the image. It'll be an image that the forum software places over it.

I told Mike I probably won't use a mod's truck in the real version, to avoid potential flame wars that might occur if someone suspects favoritism. I chose yours because there was enough room on the left of the truck to have a smooth fade without the front of the truck being in the faded area.

LOL. Well I guess that relieves me of favoritism accusations cuz now I can just blame it on threats and intimidation.
I don't know if you noticed though, I did ask for a Pete 379 to use. I think something more conventional would go well to compensate for the plastic Volvo in the main logo.Yeah he does. Check your server, LOL

I will see if I can find one that was taken when my ride was clean and shiny, not out working for a week in the mud from some equipment site.

Why clean up for the camera. This photo should reflect life. I say buck the trend of putting up some sqeaky clean dry van. Put up a real trucker doing a real job in the heavy haul segment.
Maybe once I get my ramps installed, I'll post a picture of my loading a military vehicle, grader, backhoe or something like that.

liveaboard74 posted this cartoon, and it gave me an idea. I enlarged it to 600%, traced over just the girl and re-cartooned it, then shrank it back down to 20% (for now). I get better detail doing it that way, but actually it looks best when viewed at 50%. I'm thinking about putting her in the picture, polishing the fender of whatever truck ends up getting used.
