I didn't phrase my statement right. I don't want limiters mandated for ALL trucks (as in the one I'm driving). I agree that the big outfits that hire morons and the no speak English crowd have to control them somehow.I'm pretty sure speed limiters are not going to go away
Insurance companies don't need government to require speed limiters. Insurance companies simply give discounts for companies that comply with their unreasonable demands.I'm pretty sure speed limiters are not going to go away. The insurance lobby will fight that with every dime they have. Plus, you have to think about how a major portion of these drivers would act without speed limiters. Many of these trucks are geared fast/run slow for fuel economy. If you were to give them an unleashed truck, they would be trying to run it flat out through downtown pick your favorite town. Then the amount of speeding tickets accrued would put many of them out of a job, further making the driver shortage a larger reality.
I'd rather money be spent on doubling law enforcement on the roads to combat these idiots that come out and want to play games with trucks for that big payout. If there was any degree of enforcement on the highways, maybe some of this nonsense would stop. You need more cops, then you need to get rid of the liberal judges that simply toss out the offender because he has a good record. Screw that. Make them pay the $500 fine, court costs and their attorney fees. Maybe that will slow them down a little.
There is no money in the budget for LEO's to patrol, but let some dickhead politician come to town and there are 40 troopers and 100 local LEO's guarding the motorcade and shutting down every road they get near.

If the shortage was actually a real thing instead of just the average person's response to low wages and horrible working conditions, there would be bare empty store shelves everywhere, all the time.A driver shortage would be a good thing.
Well the entire economy is a balancing act.If the shortage was actually a real thing instead of just the average person's response to low wages and horrible working conditions, there would be bare empty store shelves everywhere, all the time.
Speed limiters in Ontario and Quebec are "mandatory". However, there is no real enforcement on that unless you get caught speeding.About the middle of the video, she skims right through the part of getting rid of all this talk about speed limiters. That was as big an issue to me as all this emission garbage.
I have seen a few videos that say technically you can't delete your truck, but if you do, there's nobody there to really come after you
The new gen will be waving there hands out the windows and staring into there phones and tablets while screaming look mom no handsIn the 90's fuel was cheap and 90MPH convoys happened. I wouldn't trust this next gen of truckers to be able to partake in a 90MPH convoy without wrecking.
I like my tablet. The new gen will be waving there hands out the windows and staring into there phones and tablets while screaming look mom no hands
i still have a 9th gen ipadI like my tablet.
Correction. I like having a tablet. My particular tablet is kind of slow so I keep looking for a faster replacement that's the same size. Preferably also with a better screen.
Mine has a 4G radio in it so it's difficult to find a suitable replacement.
i never use it though it just sits there LOL
