The Island of Misfit Toys


Weird ass load coming shortly. I've run it once already, took steps to make it go smoother this time. Hopefully it works. Running a redeye shift starting at 10:30 going to Buffalo the Cleveland. It'll be an adventure. But the beautiful Mrs Junkie will be waiting at the end of the day. Motivation to trudge through it.
 
To the mods here on this site.. this stupid "cookie policy" button keeps floating above my keyboard and won't go away. I've accepted it like 5 times and the dam thing is still there getting in the way.

Never mind. I just switched over to desktop view and it isn't there. Must be a phone thing.
 
Thought about you just now @Farmer54 got some dumb motherf'r sitting next to me that won't stop trying to have a very unwanted conversation. Can't read social cues, won't stfu. And no tables to escape to. Gotta love those stops at a bar :rolleyes-80:
 
Hope y'all are doing well out there. Man, I'm whooped. Ran from 11pm til 12:30pm. Only made it home cuz I slipped the dock guy $20 to jump everyone else at my second stop. Worth every last penny to not be stuck in Cleveland for the night instead of sitting here at my watering hole. Cheers everyone, hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Just in case anyone needs a quick giggle, I saw the greatest thing ever this morning. This is the second time I've done the run I did today. If I do it again I am DEFINITELY stopping for a photo. I was on 15/11 in PA going from Carlisle PA to Buffalo and saw something I didn't notice on the first run. Friggin hilarious. There was an adult store in all its glory on the opposite side of the road. Next to it there were two massive billboards, one on top of the other. One said something about Jesus and the other said something about lust and sin. You couldn't possibly ask for anything funnier. I truly regret not having time to turn around and grab that pic this morning. Second best story I have along those lines was parking at a truck stop that shares a parking lot (kind of) within adult store. Parked right in front of that adult store was a Nussbaum truck with one of their "faith and family" trailers attached. You can't create irony that perfect 🤣

Ever go through Dungannon? There’s 3-4 strip clubs all within a stones throw of the Peelot truck stop there.

Then if you leave there heading for Harrisburg in the middle of the river is a baby Statue of Liberty on one of the rocks.

If you go from Dungannon up towards Shamokin Dam there’s a few sketchy adult stores in that stretch. “Truck friendly parking” :biglaugh:

I’ve run that stretch of road between Buffalo and Carlisle way too many friggin’ times. Sometimes I’ll run 219 south from Buffalo just to break things up.

219, the interstate to nowhere :coocoo:

Although if you run 219 you can stop in at Sassy’s Truck Stop :D
