That Time? Ugh!

@SkateBoard @Fageol @Blood @Duck @DubbleD @rigjockey @Tim @DrDaliah @krelithous

You guys are awesome.. Thank you for lightening things up.

Duck sent me a message earlier asking if I was just stirrin' up the usual suspects with this thread. I can't blame him. But I'm not jest jokin'. I'm honestly not feeling good and it's been going on for a while. I've been ignoring it in my focus on other people and my job(s). I can't ignore it anymore. And no, Krelithous, it's not the monthly blues.

Anyway, carry on with the hijinx..

The entertainment is priceless!

:rolllaugh3:

Injun, don't know if your culture has two principal clans, Eagles and Ravens, like the Tlingits and Haida's of Washington and Alaska. Most of the folks I knew when I lived among the Tlingits in Yakutat were Ravens -- I think that ravens are a tad higher in the pecking order than eagles (no pun intended). Regardless, having lived in the Bush for years, one pays attention to critters. And ravens and their close relatives, crows are some of the most amusing creatures. A friend posted this and I thought that it might provide some priceless (or not) entertainment: http://www.wimp.com/crowtobogganing/

:(
Friggin' taxes anyway.

Butt seriously,
You'll get through it...
just like always.

Don't dismiss the veggie thing out of hand.
We've never seriously considered going veggie or vegan for a minute.
But I'm telling you, this juice thing is nothing short of miraculous.
If you perused the 'fat, sick and nearly dead' thread then you have a hint.

The nutrients from greens n such are just phenomenal!!

You don't have to go on a juice diet or stop eating meat.
Just juice 15 or 20 ounces once a week while at home and do 3 or 4 ounces a day.

We tend to think that our fore bearers survived on whatever was available which is certainly true up to a point in the days before refrigeration and modern shipping, but it turns out (IMO) that much of what they consumed was very deliberately refined over eons to provide the best nutrition on the planet.

You could even shop for all the ingredients on your last run before heading home.

Couldn't hurt. :)

And another thing...
stress really is a killer.
With the drama of your other half going through a stroke, then therapy...
and all the focus being on his comfort/recovery while you're saddled with the 'mundane' chores of living day-to-day...
it takes a toll...
and once you're able to breathe again your body will collapse...

Just sayin'...

DUDE!!
WTH is the matter with you??
Both teams have been eliminated from playoffs in the first place...
and in the second place, she don't GAF about football at the moment. o_O

Damn...
you're dense!!!

;)

Doc visit seemed to go well, although Dr. Vegetarian indicated I was way too relaxed for his comfort. Whatever that means. I was just kickback in a chair, resting my head on my hand and listening to him.

My BP was 94/62, pulse 80, resp 16, temp 96.5.

The more I'm reading and researching, the more I'm wondering if thyroid is the problem. I've had an astronomical cholesterol level for as long as I can remember. I treated it for a time with statins, but had a bad reaction in muscle soreness and profound fatigue, so I refuse to take them now. Since I have none of the other signs of heart disease, I'm not particularly concerned with the cholesterol.

I've found out some people get paradoxical hot flashes with hypothyroidism. No idea how that works, but I do have a fair sensitivity to cold and get chilled very easily. There have been numerous people who think I'm nuts for the temperature I like to keep my surroundings at...until I go to bed. Then, I like it quite cold so I can pile on the blankets. Hmmm....

Anyway, they took about three quarts of blood to test for thyroid levels, estrogen and progesterone levels, a CBC and a CFH(?) whatever that is. Dr. Vegetarian was going to do a testosterone level as well, but changed his mind when he found out it was $56. I told him that wouldn't be a problem, but he still didn't order it.

If this does indeed turn out to be hypothyroidism, it will explain a lot of stuff, from the menorrhagia I fixed with a thermal ablation in 2001 to the high cholesterol and maybe even the "Uh....derrr" window-licker feeling I get when it takes me longer to "get" things than everybody else.

I should hear something about my results today or Monday.

My wife runs cool like that. I think it goes back to her Comanche blood. 50 generations in the desert will do that. But with a core temp that low it would explain the chills yeah?

???? Can that be right? Isn't that borderline hypothermia?
One of my friends told me she thought it would be a good idea to check my temp when I go into a sweaty bout of a hot flash. I have the thermometer in my mouth right now, double-checking because I'm having a hard time believing this...

Okay, triple checking...

95.7 twice, then wait a couple of minutes, 96.5.

One more time...

96.4.

It's not a mistake.

I met a guy while I was unloading and made a comment that I though he was going to unload the trailer instead of the fork lift. He had muscles on top of muscles. He showed me the inside of his truck and outside with all these gadgets he made to work out. I commented on his bed. It was made out of oak, looked custom built. It was a water bed. The only problem is he can't lift up the bunk to get stuff. He has to go outside and in through the outside doors.

Did it have a tall front edge on it, or is he gonna have a 3000 lb bag of water flying towards him if he has to hit the brakes?

Can you imagine having to team in a truck with a water bed? The road motion would .... damn I'm getting nauseated just thinking about the kind of sea-sickness you'd get. LMAO.

That's curious...
my wife is part Cherokee and her temp always runs about 1.5 degrees lower than the accepted norm.

But I have a knack for bringing her to the boiling point in mere moments. o_O
:D
