For what it's worth (probably not too much), I don't put too much stock in:

A) Posters who have never driven OTR - They have nothing to compare it to. You can read and learn about it all you want, but doing it is a whole different ballgame.

B) Posters who have no actual OTR (on their own) experience

C) Posters who have a few months of it, but aren't driving anymore (for whatever reason)

D) Driver forums in general. They're fun to read, and can be informative, but don't show the whole picture. Even the largest forum only has about the same # of members as Werner and Swift, combined, have drivers. And the % of active members is relatively small.

Sean can rant and rave all he wants, but he is just a tiny dot (pixel?) in the overall trucking picture, and has lost his relevancy with his tirades. Best thing at this point is to just not respond anymore. I know I won't.

That said, I'm outta here.

For you actual drivers here, stay safe.

I did the "war and peace" novel on purpose to bug the hell out of a few here. Now there is a LOT more words for the search engines LOL. Again I apologize to rob1 for doing that with his quote.

It does not necessarily take "name calling" to (so called) "hurt people's feelings" or "dilute a point". This can be accomplished through (the magical word you used) insults.

Frankly I don't give a rat's booty what veterans think where what I experienced is concerned. As long as they keep it to themselves. They tried to "dilute" the facts I presented (which were never meant for them in the first place - they were meant for other newbies). They were telling me what was tantamount to saying I was lying, distorting the facts, or it was simply my fault. If a veteran posted an accident scenario or something to do with a company that got them fired, I sure as hell am not going to get on here and tell them it had something to do with them - that it was their fault.

Simple as that.

Overall - an intelligent post with some actual substance.

Absolutly I will be going to other forums and discussions. I will simply copy and paste the details of my experiences there.

Last sentance: Some truth and very good advice. The word "Tirade" is (to use xr's term) "insulting", and can "dilute" the point the other is trying to make (since we're all making points here) - and goodbye.

Here's yet another example of the intellect (or lack of), and immaturity that exists in the industry - it's scary. Then this is a profession which does not even require a H.S. diploma to say nothing of the histories of some who are driving out there - scary scary scary.

007, why do you write the B.S. you write (wanna be drivers and such)? And why don't you lay off the caps? I don't care what you read and what you don't read. And frankly, I'll write as much as I please.

Yeah Yeah, Swift is such hot shit, and the reason I (and others) are not with them is our own fault. I hear this song and dance from you people all the time. You had no problem with Swift, you support them. They gave me a problem I should not have been given, I have a beef. I still think some of you here are shareholders or company big wigs with a problem with my telling it exactally how it happened for me. It's not going to stop, and I stand by what I say.

Too bad Swift is not one of the two carriers who are actually in the black. And too bad Swift terminates 400+ drivers from ONE terminal alone, and yet keep hiring for that subsidy money.

Why don't you and others stop trying to think as though you know everything about me, and the reason I am not with Swift or Werner is totally my fault? I really don't know who the hell some people think they are with their insinuations of my threads not telling it truthfully of the way it happened with me. It's the way the carriers played me for some more subsidy money, and the know it alls here that turned me mean. Do me a favor, and don't bother with the "over nite wanna be drivers" and the "spoiled little mama's brat who can't handle a man's job" bullshit innuendos where I am concerned - it's the same as my using words like "moron" with the namecalling, and the reason why I did. It does not take namecalling to irritate, but it seems moderators like xr choose to ignore what I responded to. Where driving is concerned: I can get out there and drive circles around most people, but I will not go the extra mile for those who show unconcern or caring for others. I know the line between doing my job and being a fool and a sucker, seems most drivers don't. Trucking to me is a simple job - not a whole lot to it. But the way things are, D.Ms. and those who run the companies make it as hard as they can. Don't expect me to take the irritable moody people in the shops and offices for their 26 cents a mile. I takes a lot more to be a "man" than to let a DM or company change the rules so they can run you as they see fit. But that was not my issue with Swift. My demise had nothing to do with my work performance while I trained. I said numorous time what happened with me with Swift.

One thing is certain right now: if a driver is strictly by the book, and will not kiss up to management or the DM, you're going to have a problem. Where kissing up to the DM is concerned, my mentor with Swift told me that from the start.

Don't like the length of what I post, just shut up about it. I sure won't "get the hell out" because YOU tell me to. Who the hell are YOU anyway?

We think that he already knows, but ran into some difficulties, has found a way to blame everyone but himself, and wants everyone to know what a horrible industry this is...that he's still trying to get into for some reason.

sean usualy u dont have to kiss az once u prove ur self based on performance once ur on ur own. some places iv worked u were only as good as ur last load. as far as ur mentor goes telling u that u have to kiss az thats probly how he got to be a mentor/trainer.ur right i dont know you and i dont profess to but i have been in a similure situation when i started i came on. i out of a union job in aviation ithought trucking would be be bucks for big trucks. i hated it i quit. said i would never go back. i did i got knocked down alot.i kept goin. now i wouldn t trade jobs with anyone for the world.i understand .28 is not alot i started with i guy i was the lowest paid but at the end of the week i made more than the senoir guys. i worked more. @ a crappy co. got into better co.s became a trainer.iv learned alot but iv got alot to learn. so do u take it for what its worth just free advice.
