"Stress Cards" in the military and "Time-Outs"

I had a friend that dropped out of high school to join the Army, That was his dream.He had an apparent nervous breakdown and was sent home. He was a little lost for a while having lost his dream.
No shame in that. Not everyone is a soldier Not everyone is cut out for the Military.

Not everyone is cut out to be a trucker No shame in that.
I know guys that have tried it and it was not for them. I say i hear ya brother, At least you gave it a shot.

My biggest regret was not joining the Air force.

I doubt I'll retire from trucking either. I'm hoping to use it as a way to move up in the world. Not so much advancement from driving (hah!) but use the money to do other things.

I was just kind of piggybacking RJs comment about not everyone being cut out for it or whatnot.

I don't see myself as being cut out for it long term as in the next 30 years. I get bored with stuff.

Can I do it? Yeah. Do I wanna? Meh. If I find or make something better happen I'll leave it behind.

well i surpassed the 30 year point myself, having accomplished all my goals, except one...o/o..

but after doing "some homework", being an o/o was just not in the cards for me. even with a background in management and business operations, i felt that fork in the road, was best passed on by.

bored at times..?? you betcha your sweet bippy......

i didn't think i'd make it past the first year, then 5 years, then 10, then 25.......

You are well disciplined and structured, I admire that

On my second time at the airport (and I am in no way comparing it to the military) I was in a class with some Beta males at best.
Timid, So when food or coffee was rolled out they would still be sitting down while everyone else was getting theirs, I was like you better get in there or by he time you do there will be nothing left! That is an all alpha male joint!

i too wanted to go air force, and be a pilot. but was told by a family member, you gotta have college, then west point. or annapolis..???

i was told i might be ground crew, or mechanic. i said screw that, i can be a mechanic in the army....

wound up, not getting drafted, or joining....

That is what I wanted to do was be ground crew, i was already doing that as a civilian. I had no dreams of becoming a pilot.

if i wasn't gonna fly, i wasn't gonna stay on the ground.....then i found out in later years....

I HAD A FEAR OF HEIGHTS....!!!!!!!
