well,I had a speedometer that worked but the odometer quit several years ago
I bought one and it had a digital odometer,

They gave me instructions on how to calibrate it
I never got it close so I got the old one and set it excally like it was.The thing is off 2 mph at all speeds according to a app and my gps.
no big deal,I just wonder where it went?

The old speedometer was off just like that

Difference in tires size from what was on it factory. The only way to get one closer is to get your tire revs and do the formula in the book with it then find the up down code in the back. My brother changed rear end gear ratio and we got it close. He found that two codes up higher than what the formula got made it perfect. YMMV.

It’s kind of complicated but you need to dial in the rotation per foot to dial in the rotation per mile

I did try to do it by the book but came up wrong.I finally gave up on that
I thought the tire sizes was wrong also.I might try a closer code and see what happens

I cheat I don’t measure the tire. I get the revs per mile from the interweb and skip like the first 4 steps. Fuck measuring that shit. But yeah figure out what number has it 2 mph off. Try one up. And see what happens if it’s closer go up again if it’s further go the other way..

We think that while he was sold a 3.42:1 rears that it maybe the difference is I could be a 3.41.5:1 instead but you can’t break it down like that lol

I always divide the actual vs shown. Gives you a percentage.

Go into the ECM and multiply the revs per mile and put in the new number.

Dash and odometer is spot on. I'd have to adjust about every six months for tire wear.

If he’s got a speedometer with the switches on it, it isn’t adjustable in the ECM.
