Screw the diets, I like to eat too much. So, I decided to exercise.....

Update:

Took me a while to adjust the eating habits, and I still fall off of that wagon from time to time. Doing better and better though in regards to leaving the fast food and soft drinks alone.

Cooking quite a bit of meats to put in the fridge when I leave out, boiled eggs, cheeses, yogurt, and picking up bags of spinach/kale mix. Replaced bread with spinach tortillas, and they actually taste better than the bread.

I went from eating lots of cereal and sandwiches in the truck to not even carrying milk, cereal, or bread in the truck at all.

Since my initial post, my weight peaked at just over 218 pounds.

Saturday, I climbed on the scale for the 2nd time since I started this and I am down 14 pounds to a hefty 204.

Been stepping up the walking and the bicycling.

Only bad news, somebody stole my bicycle while I was gone last week. Noticed it on Thursday while working on the mower and weed eater, had it replaced with a new one by Saturday afternoon. Broke it in with a short 5 mile ride. I hope whoever stole the bike really needed it.

@Mike Do you know what turkey wings Neckbones and Baked chicken I bet if you try it you will leave fast food alone and put it in a slow cooker under your bed and cook it you will like it

We actually have two fridges packed in the truck right now. The factory fridge and a small 12 volt. Mostly meat. Chicken, bacon, sausage, hamburger patties, and pork chops.

Im telling you try slow cooking neckbones and or turkey wings and cook turkey wings for about 6 hours and neckbones for about 8-9 in slow cooker but it taste really good and its good for you no grease in it and you can smoke neckbones or just cook them like rice and gravy

Welcome to the forum.

Can you say Atkins?

No, not Atkins. I eat other food, just pack the fridge with this stuff.

No Grains, No sugars.

Working on getting more vegetables into my diet, finding this the toughest thing to do. Outside of the spinach and Kale, I brought carrots and celery along, as well as hummus dip. I need to get more veggies into my meals though.

Forgot - Plenty almonds and cashews, usually in the form of trail mix with raisins. Great snack.

Finding I never feel extremely full (bloated), but takes me much longer to get hungry at all. Energy level is way up. Getting in close to 5 miles of walking most days, and several miles of bike riding when I am at home.

If that "small 12 volt" you're talking about is one of those thermo-electric cooler things, keep a thermometer in it. I wouldn't trust them with anything other than bottled water that doesn't really need to be cold anyway.

Time traveller! :p

I can lose five inches off my waist in about ten minutes:

Ouch OUCH....No thanks I just let all my stuffings hang out with each other the natural way!!! LOL

Well, stepped on the scale while at home after the wife and I meandered across the country. Diet wasn't followed very closely during those three weeks, actually the diet wasn't followed much at all. I did manage to keep from going overboard though at most meals, and got lots of exercise, at least while we were at the beaches in California.

Guess I did ok, still managed to drop another 4 pounds, weighing in at an even 200. It's been quite a few years since I was below 200, so that next milestone will be a good one.

Side note: Also donated blood for the first time in years while at Newport Beach. Used to donate regularly until getting high blood pressure so that basically stopped at around age 30. If you don't give blood, and can, you should. Just sayin' :)

I don't exercise.
I work.

I downloaded one of those pedometer apps this morning just for shits n grins.
My phone petered out before I did.
Last time I looked it said something like 13,000 steps and nearly 6 miles.
I switched off the power before I ever left the property to run some errands.
:stare1:

Phone said, "low power".
I said, "sleep it off...
PUSSY!!
I got shit to do!!"
;)

Sorry everyone.

You can't substitute exercise for caloric intake. Sounds logical I know, but it doesn't work that way.

Calories in vs. Calories out, yeah, but you have to completely understand the concept and mechanism. If it really did work that way, we would have a lot less fatties on this planet.

There are plenty of strong, muscular, active... and overweight people in this world. Just because someone looks fat or IS fat does NOT mean that they are unhealthy, weak, or ready to have a heart attack.

90% of your fitness goals lie in one place: Nutrition.

No, I'm not going to say "diet" because that implies "sacrifice" when in fact a "diet' is just the manner in which you eat and choose your foods.

Have fun. Don't stop exercising by any means, just don't expect the fat to go away if you aren't going to attack the knowledge of you caloric intake and how it affects your exercise and "weight" loss, preferably "Fat" loss... but that is much, much more difficult.

Fat likes to stay. Sorry, but that's just the way it is. It's meant to be stored and it does it well. The calories that your body really likes are Carbs and Protein. Protein builds muscle, but NOT without Carbs. Carbs provide energy but dont build muscle without PROTEIN.

Like I said in another post, dont take my world for it. Read a book. Something that has to do with the Krebs Cycle and how FAT burns in the presence of CARBS!

If it were so easy... man, wouldn't that be coolness x a million?
