I watch that show Life Below Zero and during the winter months they have to eat up to 8,000 calories a day. Much of the meat has no fat so it's pretty gross what they have to eat.
Dieting is a temporary fix to a weight problem. If your goal is to be healthy, you need to adopt a healthy life style. That means you're eating better at all times (not just for a month or not just until you lose x amount of lbs). However, your body still needs small amounts of all that bad crap, so it's okay to treat yourself to a cheat meal each week. I don't follow a strict eating plan. I just don't eat something I know is garbage. It's pretty simple. I also workout 6 days a week. Being a trucker makes it difficult, especially when you like lifting, like I do. But it's possible. If you don't want to alter your diet, that's fine and your choice, but don't be surprised when you don't get the results you were hoping for. Health is 70% diet. If it helps, slowly phase out certain foods. Just jumping on the healthy eating train can have some nasty effects on your attitude. You will literally go through withdraw from lacking certain foods youvised to eat a lot of (especially sugar). Slowly improve your diet over time. Eventually, bad foods that used to be common to your daily eating, don't appeal to you anymore. Above all else, healthy living is a mental change.
