Schneider National acquires Cowan, real estate for more than $400M

Schneider National announced it has acquired Cowan Systems and some of its real estate assets in a deal totaling more than $400 million.

Yep. And I didn't even realize they had already bought M&M last fall. M&M is the dedicated carrier at our local Target.

They have probably 30 trucks in there and they're almost always all sitting. Some of the dedicated stuff even goes out on random bottom feeder trucks, while the lot is full of M&M trucks.

Didn't I used to see a lot of Cowan trucks at P&G Tunkhannock? I know Kane was a big hauler out of there too. I am going back about 17 years.

Landstar used to haul a crapload of P&G until they started getting cheap and outsourced the freight to whom ever was cheapest, service started to go downhill and P&G shipping department started to find the trucks themselves why pay for an agent when they had a computer and could do it themselves, cheaper
