I'm running out of paper towels, hand sanitizer, and moisturizing lotion.

Hand sanitizer I've actually used for years because public places are gross. It has nothing to do with contemporary trends.

The moisturizers are to keep me looking young and beautiful until I can find a painting of myself upon which to wish all my aging instead of aging myself.

I'm also running out of paper towels.

None of these things I want to buy in a truck stop, and most times I cannot bring myself to stop my work day to go inside a Walmart and get them.

I'm also extending my work week this week because I am not only vain, but also greedy.

Still, I hope I can make it to the end of the week on the few paper towels I have. I'm pretty sure I can squeeze everything else that far.

I was just inside a Loves and noticed that Monster Energy drinks are 3.09 each. They are 1.98 in Walmart. A case if 12 is 18.00. I know this because if I could replace by blood with cans of sugar free white Monster I'd have done it already. The full octane sugared stuff actually makes my scalp tingle and I avoid it.

I find it amazing that in this day and age there are still people who rely solely on truck stops for their supplies and won't put any effort into stocking the truck in some way. I understand not everyone has a giant human organ smuggling fridge like @Mike, but even if I still drove a box on wheels I'd have some supplies from someplace other than a truck stop.

So the questions are:

Do you stock the truck? If not why not?

If so how do you go about doing so?

What do you hate running out of the most on the road?

What do you do to avoid it?

How long do you go before you bite the bullet and buy something from someplace other than where you normally buy it?

Often when I’m at home I’ll raid the truck as it’s got stuff the house is running out of.

I’ve got resources to keep me out of public places for a month if I wanted to.

I definitely keep the truck stocked. Not with ha d sanitizer, because that’s for sissies.

I always have a minimum of two unopened rolls of paper towels. Sometimes more. Not counting canned food, I can eat for almost two weeks in the truck with what I cook. Also keep lots of snacks, tuna, and sardines.

I’m the guy that could have two phone chargers go out, and still have another one left to get me by til I got home.

And I always bring a new container of coffee to the truck when the current one reaches 1/2 full. I'm not buying dark bleach water from the truck stop.

Almost $6 for two slices of pizza pissed me off. Fortunately it was rewards points but still. I don't think I'd ever use actual dollars for that kind of stuff.


And yeah I brew my dark bleach water at home.

I commend you for being able to keep such a neat truck pantry. I have resorted to the low profile small, clear totes over the years because everything falls over in my cabinets..I mean everything.. and no I don't drive like Thelma & Louise..

I used to keep every kind of cleaner, degreaser & cootie wipes in my truck because I'm a germaphobe & have been my whole life. I don't use public pens, public toilets, e.t.c. I have a small portable RV type toilet from Cabela's in my truck. And no, you're not borrowing my pen.. sorry, that's just me. Yes, people are gross..

I have drastically reduced my cleaning supplies down to 3 bottles.. Simple Green (that stuff is amazing), a bleach bathroom cleaner & window cleaner. Since covid, hand wipes are scarce, so I just buy the refill packs of baby wipes or wet ones and dump some rubbing alcohol in their containers. It works for me at least. Plus I keep a small travel size spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol in my cup holder. (.. What about Bob, I know, I know..)

My fridge is small & has the usual tiny built in freezer. I cannot go without ice, which is why I pour water into the freezer baggies & lay them in the freezer for homemade ice since that takes up less space than those little ice cube trays do, plus it freezes a lot faster than those trays do.

If you haven't already gotten a RoadPro box cooker, I highly recommend it. They work amazing and I've made just about everything in those things. Don't bother with the loaf trays, they're too pricey to keep buying. Heavy duty foil works just fine. It'll save a ton of money versus eating out. Throw your stuff in there & when you're close to parking for the day, just plug it in & supper will be ready when you stop. Also, spray butter is a lifesaver with these things too..

I keep the dispenser refill packs of folding paper towels in my truck because they stack better in storage. You can buy a case at Costco & they smash into any storage spaces nicely.

I'm done with buying the gel hand sanitizer because price gouging is happening everywhere with that stuff. A small travel bottle for 40 cents then filled with alcohol works the same, IMO.

I rarely use my points at truck stops. I stockpile them for whenever I need something I cannot get at a regular store at a decent price or if I have to replace my bluetooth or something. I've only had to pay out of pocket for 1 bluetooth headset over the years since I've bought all the others with points, including the $14 extended warranty package. I love free..

These are the best cookers & I've used the hell out of them. I've tried the burton ones and they never seemed to last long like the Roadpro cooker does.

Their box cookers are the only thing I've tried by them. Other brands have underperformed and were just a waste of money for me.

I was going to spend more money and get the Burton, but bought a Roadpro with points instead. That was several years ago and mine still works flawlessly.

Haven’t used it since getting the new truck, though, because the types of foods I carry with the microwave. Foreman grill, single burner electric stove top thingy, and a table to do all the cooking from the supply of food in my larger fridge has eliminated its usefulness for now.
