RIP, Girly Truck

I looked at some trucks today. Most of them were pigsties with too much time on the leases. Truck 1 smelled like wet dog and ****. I didn't get past opening the door. Truck 2 smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and the mattress was some odd grayish color of brown that I didn't want to analyze. Truck 3 was too new to have a driver seat that color.

Truck 4... Well, I considered it. Strongly. I called on it. They can't lease it because there's not enough time and mileage left on the lease. There's still a possibility I could get in it as a loaner until what I want comes available. It's a Pete.

Have you looked at a glider?

Who, me???? Wasn't gonna say a thing...... :biglaugh:

Got any Volvets????:D

BTW... I dislike the Volvo I'm driving just a little less these days. Hit a major storm just south of St Louis yesterday Low,heavy black clouds , lightning constant all around, raining hard sideways, 60mph winds blowing tree branches and crap across the road. I was expecting a tornado. Swedish Freighliner tracked like a champ. Very stable.

Do you have the air bag front end?

cab and sleeper on the 386 and the 389 are the same. The 386 is a set back axle with an aero hood.
I could see the whole engine. It wasn't tucked back like my Spreader was. Narrow cab and the clutch pedal pivots in the middle of the floor.

The KWs available are 680s.

I was looking at the 386 and 389 in Indianapolis in May.

I'm actually knocking around buying a 389 Glider next winter.

I've got an air ride front.

Once things got aligned by a good tech, it went pretty good.

Good tires and a good alignment, I'm getting great wear on my steers.

Most of the negative I hear deals with the "slosh factor" and inability of the front air bags to "cycle"fast enough. No personal experience with that so... :dunno:

I'll give you the mush factor. it still gets me on big crosswind days.

The "cycling"? Not sure what you mean. I know they bottom out on harsh bumps. But so did the classic with all springs.

I felt a better ride . more so from the axle being further from me than anything.
