How do you change the Rigmaster starter?

Disconnect the batteries
Take out a bunch of bolts
Put the new starter in
Replace most of the bolts you took out.
Hook up the batteries.

hence the "take out a bunch of bolts"....

Take it apart until you get to what you need to get at. All the cases are that way.

or were you looking for the step-by-step manual answer?

There are 3 panels, should I take off all 3 or just the one that I need to remove?

Got the starter changed but you only need to remove the front cover, had to remove the alternator, but got access to the starter, we did not have proper wrench for one of the starter bolts so had to remove the belt trensioner but got it done!!

Skateboard, Yes, we ,in error removed the back panel and couldn't get to the starter, so removed the front panel and although difficult, we got it changed out. I got the starter online and saved a bunch of money. Also, last week my RM would run a short time and then stop, showing "battery charge failure", I called BigRig and Rene said to check belts and wiring, I found the "hot" wire connection on the starter to be barely loose, got it tightened and everything is now GOOD! Thanks for the Reply!!

Which front panel did you pull off? Do you mean the front cover or a side panel?

The front panel, the one covering the belt driven fan. Also, we didn't have a tool that would work on one of the starter bolts, so had to remove the belt tensioner to get to it. Also removed the alternator to have more room, not a hard job but time consuming!!!

Here's a cheap way to deal with starter probs on those. Go to the junkyard and find you an "accessory" pulley (fan pulley will do). Pick up about 50 ft of small rope'

Now mount the pulley to the front of the Rigmaster crank shaft. Wrap several turns of the rope around the pulley. Take the free end and wrap around one of your drive pulleys (as in a single chain). Now simply pull ahead one or two truck lengths and *boom*.... power assisted pull start.
