One year here put in a garden everything that was grow able and possible went into the ground...I worked like a mule on that thing...Stayed up late night duty to can and preserve the pickings....finally had to throw in the towel...I advertised free fresh vegs and gave directions. People came by but wanted me to do the picking, cleaning of the vegs for them.... Which at that time this mule flat refused to do.....As it turned out I cleaned it out and feed it to the animals around the place.I remember I had squash running nuts (overload) along with everything else....I put in a half acre that year....Was the last garden I ever done since.

Are't you glad Ray hates that stuff...Leaves more for you...just kidding cause figure you share anyway!
Now the fight would be on with me over a caramel candy apple...lol I have gone to heaven when I get my mitts on one those.
Another favorite is pineapple malts...I can make a whole meal of one.

We should have a thread just for recipies. I started this one off by copying an old post from another thread.

Homemade strawberry crossover puff pastries

1 lb (455 g) Puff Pastry, if dough is frozen allow to thaw to a workable
1 lb (455 g) Fresh Berries, cut into ½″ pieces
1 c Pastry Cream
Egg Wash (1 egg white mixed w/ 1 tbsp. water)
Powdered Sugar (optional)
¾ ″ dowel needed for cutting strips for crossovers

preheat oven to 375°F 1. Keeping the puff pastry dough lightly dusted with flour, roll out to ⅛″ thick, a bit over 7″ wide and how ever long you have room to roll (roll separate chunks of dough if needed, keeping the second dough in the fridge until ready to roll). Trim the edges of the dough to form straight edges. 2. Cut the dough into approx. 4″ lengths. Fold a piece of dough around the dowel so that the 4″ length runs down the dowel and the 7″ width wraps around it. Make sure top flap of dough tucks in close to the dowel and is laying flat on top of the bottom section of dough. 3. Cut strips ¼ – ½″ wide along the length of the dough. Wider strips are easier to handle, but the strip width is mostly a visual choice. Be sure to slice all the way through the bottom layer. 4. Using the dowel, transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silpat. Lay out flat and continue slicing strips for the rest of the pastry sections. 5. Put pastry cream in a pastry bag with a ½″ plain tip, or put pastry cream in a plastic sandwich bag and cut one corner to pipe out of. Pipe a line of pastry cream down the center, the length of each section of dough. Spread it a little to flatten the pastry cream. Place a hearty layer of berries on top of pastry cream. 6. With the right hand, bring the right strip closest to you across the berries. With the left hand cross the left-hand strip across the first strip. Continue this alternating left and right, making sure each strip is overlapping the previous opposite side to help lock it in. Do this down the length of each pastry and for all of the pastries. 7. With the dowel, press down a little going the length of each pastry to help seal and lock the strips together. Brush with egg wash. 8. Double pan your baking pan then bake for 35 min. or until golden. If necessary a sheet of parchment paper can be draped over the top of the crossovers if the tops are cooking faster than the rest of pastry. 9. Allow to cool, dust with powdered sugar if desired and enjoy.

Everybody says this concoction I made tonight was most excellent & even the little 9 yr old demon child pigged out on it. So this one's a keeper & I gotta type it up so I'll remember it later & so I can send my sister the link.

OK so here's what I did.

Went to Walmart, got 2 boxes of Cellantani pasta, 3 jars of red pepper alfredo sauce, cajun seasoning, 1 red bell pepper, 5-pack of italian sausages, a big bag of frozen fully cooked chicken booby chunks, & 2 bags of frozen fully cooked shrimp.

It was just for an experiment. I was fully prepared to put it all in the trash & go to Wendy's if it didn't turn out good.

I was wanting a cajun alfredo sauce but they didn't have it so I got the pepper stuff.

I cut up the pepper in thin strips about an inch long, & put them in a cast iron skillet I found in my sister's cabinets. I cut the sausages in half & kind of squeezed little blobs of sausage out of the casings with my fingers, making little chunks like they put on pizza. I cooked that on the stove over low flame but it took forever & I eventually got impatient & took a knife & fork & cut the sausage chunks into smaller pieces so they'd cook faster. It was raw sausage so it HAD to be fully cooked. I didn't want to use too much flame cuz I didn't want to burn the peppers.

While that was going on, I used a sauce pot like what you cook mac & cheese in & I dumped the chicken & the shrimp in there & put about a cup or so of water in the bottom to make steam. Kept that on high flame til the water was steaming then kept stirring it over low flame with a lid. I put that on back burner. The idea was just to thaw it out & get it hot.

I dug out a big pot with two little handles, like what you'd boil corn cobs in. I put in a lot of water & kept messing with the sausage/pepper mix while waiting for the water to boil.

Once the sausage was fully cooked I drained the water from the pot with the chicken & shrimp, then dumped it in with the sausage & peppers. That's when my sister walked in & said "um..... you're supposed to pull the tails off the shrimp". By then the cellantani pasta was boiling & had 4 minutes left on the timer so we quickly pulled all the tails off, burning our fingers, LOL.

Dumped 2 jars of the red pepper alfredo over the meat & stirred it & kept the flame on til it was bubbling a little.. Throughout the process of browning the sausage & peppers I kept dumping hoards of cajun seasoning on it, BTW.

Only used one bag of the shrimp, 2/3 of the bag of chicken, 3 of the 5 sausages, and 2 of the 3 alfredo jars. I should NOT have cooked both boxes of the cellantani pasta though. I had no idea it would plump up that much and half of it ended up in a ziplock bag in the fridge.

Everyone says it's yummy yummy & the best pasta ever, blah blah blah, yada yada yada, etc.

I'm gonna do this again sometime at home but I'll probably try tweaking it a little. Maybe find a better way to cook the sausage, maybe add a small amount of purple onion, sauteed with the peppers of course, ... maybe I'll find cajun alfredo sauce.
Finally got around to doing this again at home.

Because in this house, the kitchen is also a man's domain.

Mrs Duck can't even nuke a bowl of soup.

That stuff turned out kinda thin & soupy.
Next time I won't use a lid on the pot so it won't recycle the steam.

I do not know about how much I believe that you come up with...about the nuke part..:)
However about that thin & soupy...Here is a tip for you to try...Take very small amount of corn starch add water and whip good add small amount to what you think you might need to that dish that turned thin and soupy this will thicken it up.
