I was going to name one of them "Terry" and the other one "Lamar". Seriously, I was.
Mrs. Duck wouldn't let me because she wanted to name the one she picked out "Striper". I haven't named the one I picked out yet. I've been thinking about calling it "Chicken ****" because it's more timid than Striper.

When i was over the road, i thought about having a dog with me. And actually thought about it for weeks before i made a decision. I decided against it for a few reasons. First off them cabs are small. Making stops just to let it go the bathroom wasn't a good sounding idea to me. and the biggest factor i think was what if it was raining or cold. Either way they have to get back in the truck and now i got this wet dog in the truck. dog smell every where. and then when that came to a conclusion, thought it was kinda selfish and mean to have a dog in such tight quarters. they like to be free and roam and have the ability to move around. I have seen people with cats and they seem to adjust better.
on the small dogs, can't stand the little yappy dogs. parents got 2 dashounds and they bark all the time. that drives me nuts. like my big pit who only barks if somethings there and doesn't even do that all the time. just ask the pizza guy. dog just about went thru th window that was cracked open just a little and didnt make a noise. i wasnt here at the time so he was just doing his job.

I don't consider the little yip-yip-yip dogs to even be dogs. It's like comparing a house cat to a tiger. Sure, they're both members of the same family or "genus" or whatever the scientists call it, but they ain't the same thing.

the way i see it, if a dogs poop isn't bigger than a toy poodle(which i just can't stand more than any other dog)then its just useless. well goood for kickin and playing yard darts with but thats it. lol
and wondering why people are 5 pages deep about his shoes really had to be the kicker. haha

Hey now, you all are talking about the small dogs....I have a imperial Shi Tzu (small one)....He only barks when someone knocks on the door....He is the sweetiest little thing...He is always at the door sooooo happy to see me when I get home everyday...He is one of the sweetiest dogs I've ever had...
Atleast when he poop's in the yard it dosen't look like a horse pooped there and he's easy to bath because he's so small.....I'll take a small dog anyday over a horse of a dog...

Crappy Cell Phone Pics
They seem to be enjoying their cage expansion I made last night. I made a vertical tunnel out of wire mesh and made a little room at the top. I was going to call it the space needle but it's more of a can shape instead of a saucer shape so I guess I'll just call it the crows nest.
The tunnel starts about 3 inches from the floor of the cage, in the corner where it can be braced in all directions so it doesn't wiggle much at the top. The wiggling comes only from the flexing of the cage. The tunnel is stiff and I was holding it like a baseball bat before I put it in the cage. The top and bottom of the crows nest thingy at the top of the observation tower are some parts I found at Menards yesterday in the HVAC ducting section. They're end caps for 8" furnace ducts. Mrs. Duck wanted me to remove her from the pictures but it was easier just to make her face blank like in the Pink Floyd "Another Brick In The Wall Part II" video.

In the third picture, .. yes, that's the rat's little weiner. Their nuts are about the size of a pistachio, each one, ... but they retract them into their bodies when they're cold.
The smaller rat, whom she named "Striper" because of the black streak down his spine, is starting to warm up to the humans. Neither of them will come out of their little house when I open the cage, but if I remove the lid from their little house, they'll both run around the cage exploring. It's how I was able to get "Squeaker" to discover the crows nest thing. (They were both in their little travel cage while I was working on that thing last night).
Neither rat will come onto my hand, but both will come up and sniff my hands. Striper will let me pick him up if I do it slowly and gently. He gets a little wiggly until I feel the cold paws on my hand. Then all of a sudden he calms down, so I'm guessing it's the warmth of my hand that makes him calm down. Usually I have my right hand cupped around him to keep him warm but I couldn't operate the phone cam that way. In these pics below, he was eating a pistachio.
