One Battle At A Time...."Prioritize"

i could have sworn you said lets not count on the media???

I stated we cannot depend on our national media's reporting of information. That I have come to believe our national media will not report on issues when truckers are involved. I have also stated that local media will be all over trucker's actions, and issues drawing actions, and if enough states where to draw the attention of their local media...that the national media may pick it up and report about it.

You have now demonstrated to me with this post and your previous post in TTW's thread, there is no longer a reason to communicate with you any longer. I will no longer comment on your posts or comments. Good luck in your endeavors.

Safe Trails and God Bless,

Definitely...impressed with the quickness of your action. Let's get 'r done.

Whether we agree with time frames, whether it'll be successful or not...we should support their effort. And realize this, it isn't a bunch of drivers, or an organization...it's a member of our media sector joining forces with Truckers And Citizens United of New York. Way to go Charlie Claburn and members.

I for one am a liitle speechless. Isn't this what we're trying to accomplish - Media Attention.

MarkTalk.com News & Commentary Blog Archive Upstate NY ‘CONVOY TO THE CAPITOL’ update
SS. Thanks for agreeing. The reason for the same date and times is what is most important. It shows unity and strength. It all needs to happen at the same time and date to be really effective. We pick one email address with everyone sending the same email and we bombard it, we need to start making a nucense out of our selves. It would also be a reminder to them that we are still out there and we are still pissed off. Also this is a step that could be taken with the TRUCC Act.. Bombard an email address for support of the trucc act. That is the way to send a real message. If you truely want to get someones attention i feel this would be a great way to go about it.

Just a little update on the gas & fuel situation in my neck of the woods. Unleaded Reg. has gone to $3.95 and holding for the past 3days. Diesel Fuel has gone to $4.70 and holding at the present. An update on the Boycott, Two local Exxon stations are now complaining to local news that their business has dropped off drastically for seemingly no reason. "They suspect it is the result of a price war instigated by Sheetz, Inc. gas stations in the area." ..... LOL.... These are two of the stations that I personally have been protesting at, so I'm sure they're fully aware of why they're losing business. And Yes Foxx, I did in fact use your signs and also made flyers of them to pass out....Thank You Sir.! Ya'll keep boycotting and make noise and be visible. >>>Have An Awesome Day<<<

We're paying $4.44 for regular, and $5.30 for diesel.

Didn't I read somewhere a while back that Boise Cascade would be shutting down their opperations when diesel fuel reached $5.00 a gal.? If it is now $5.30, does anyone know for sure that they have or that they definitely intend on acting on this? If not, can we try to find out something?

That came from a friends husband who manages four chipper operations in Oregon and Washington. That $5.00 is Boise Cascade's wholesale price, so it will be a while longer, but Boise will shut down all operations. They will not go back to work until the fuel prices drops below $5.00 again, and that may mean they won't. Our mill on the edge of town closed three weeks ago, laying off half the towns employed workers. Another imill in the next town closed a month ago. Simpson in California is closing all operations When thier fuel costs reach $5.00. And Congress still appears to not give a crap. They've sold their souls to the Oil Slicks and their boss.

Is it possible to add another radio button to the poll. I am all for a shutdown, but I still have not seen any statement regarding the reasons and demands, or a reason for that particular date. I would like to vote, but need more info for the 08/25/08...this is a question which will be asked by many.

Stop pumping up your ego and get to work .....

Hey Bandit. Bullwinkle and others who are pulling the load .... How long have we been trying to get this off the ground. 10 -12 weeks? As of last count I have 412 email addresses I was sending email to with the day news related to fuel prices every day. Then I got involved with this bunch thinking we could get the message to more people, and to help start a campaign to organize a large group of people that could pull off a real protest. but instead we get people who haven't a clue about putting a protest together. My training comes from working with the UAW, and the IBEW Union organizers during the 60s, & 70s, where you throw your ego out the window took direction from those who could keep a train of thought going for more than a day ... who could organize a wildcat strike overnight. You can't have all Chiefs and no Indians. I think the problem here is that truckers become truckers so they can be their own chief, and I don't blame them for that, not one bit, but people here need to chock it down, shut up and lessen, or get out there on their own with a baseball bat. You can only have two, maybe three chiefs; the head chief, a war chief, and a PR chief. The Indians have to lessen and do want needs to be done to keep the ball rolling, but where are the Indians. Everyone has an idea, everyone thinks their ideas is better than the other guys ideas. So some here are using their brains as wheel chocks, and we're going nowhere.

I have three journalist that I had been feeding my research to over the last 7.5 years, finding stories on the net, passing along results of congressional hearings or anything they can build articals around for the Sunday papers they work for. I'd had been fighting this war from the day slime bag Dicky Cheney started having his secret meetings with the oil companies back in 2000. You still can't get copies of the minutes of those meetings through the "Freedom Of Information Act" not without all the pages being black-lined out, all 14 pages are blacked out. I have put four to eight hours, six days a week for the last 7.8 years. I have written letters to my Congressmen, I have called my Congressmen, and have emailed my Congressmen, sometimes as often as four times a week when I found information relating to the rising gas prices, or their lack of not doing their jobs.

Then we get people with good intentions, but can't help muddying up the water, with more and more ideas that have already been around the block two and three times, because they don't or won't read past threads to see what we've been doing for the last 12 weeks. They keep mucking around in the same crap we been through over and over again. If they took an hour of so and looked at all the threads relating to the Shutdown, the Strikes, the Boycotts maybe, just maybe we could get something done here.

This isn't an organized group, this is kayos in large doses, with just a few people pulling the load. But even if everyone were pulling their share of the load, look at the number of people who are logging on to this website, it pathetic ...... makes we wonder who we're fighting, the Oil Slicks or all the losers. I think I was getting the message out better on my own, I got far far more response to my blog in one week than I have here in the last 12 weeks.

The truckers had better get the crap together or sell their trucks, gas prices are expected to go to $5.00 this summer, and even $8.00 to $10.00 if we get hit with a hurricane in the Gulf this summer. If anyone here thinks it will get better on it's own their just shooting to many blue pills, bank are going to start making you pay for their mistakes, the jackals are circling, and we ain't seen nutten yet.

Here another lump on the forhead, 10 of the 12 riches people in the world are Asian, and they think you've had it to good for to long, and they are about to put the screws to us.

Me? if I can sell my house this summer, I'm thinking of moving to Canada, or Sweden. I have two of my four married daughters living in both countries. I've said twice now that I'm finished with this bunch, but keep hopping they will stop the pumping up their egos and make a real change on this website, but not so. So.......Whatcha think Bendit and Bullwinkle, are we pissing in the wind?

You'll have to ask Moose about that one SS. I don't believe I can get back into it once it is started. Maybe Moose can tell us differently, or do it for you.

SS., Mark gave his reason for the date on the 'LETS SET A DATE THREAD" on post #45. I just wanted to make sure you got the information. Maybe that will help you..

That's good Grayfoxx. But it is not just about oil.
You say we dont read the post, Do you?
Oil is just part of it. What some of you want is for us to make it all about it, and it's not.
not if you are in trucking.

I think they are all over the place.
and some of them are good.the demands for s.s.
but not for that date.

so what do you want to see get done?? i am sick and tired of reading these negative posts
what have you done besides be negative and sit here and tell everyone else they are not doing the right things?
you must battle one thing at a time and yes oil is the biggest problem
you also said about slow freight in august? that is when i am always busy right now it's slow!
i think you just like to disagree with everyone all the time and that is why we will never have complete unity or as silversurfer says "knight of the road" again because of negative assed drivers like you!!!!!!!!!!

Please do not mis-quote me in your statements. I never stated, or implied, what you are saying to lunachic.

What are you talking about?
How do you read a reply for demands and a date as negative?
Find the post I said anything about slow freight in Aug.
And the only thing I did not agree with is the date. And I still dont, nor will I honor it.
I will stay with the boycott, but want nothing to do with the shut down.
and just to set you right, I dont even know
s.s. or you except for that p.m. you sent me telling me about him.
which I dont care. Negative! Think again.

I requested a poll to be taken on a shut down, the votes are not all in yet and i see that everyone is proceeding on with a shutdown. I really wanted to see what everyone really thought about a shutdown before proceeding on. We needed a general census on how many people would participate.

Great Point TTW.......Last night when I Posted the Poll everyone seemed to be in favor of it. I think it is a good tool and should be looked at closely. It needs to be given a chance to work, so far I'm only seeing 18 voters out of a possible 1650. It will stay up and available to all of you until 9:00pm ET on Fri., Please, everyone step up and cast your vote on this item.

Boycott ExxonMobil only..

My problem with the Shutdown is that the date is set one week before fuel prices start to drop, as the "driving season" come to an end. But I vote with a majority.

As fas as including all Big Oil Companies in the Boycott, who does that leave when it's time to refill our tanks? Stick with ExxonMobil only. Don't make it a choice between boycotting the nearest gas stations and getting to work.

The boycott will be much more effective if you stick with Exxon, if you spread it out over serval oil companies, it will not do what is was meant to do which was have a major impact on ONE company and make an example out of them and show them the power of the American people.
