Carriers and dispatchers are gonna abuse that adverse conditions and don't need more than 3 hours off because you can stack it crap.

Regularly? HELL no. Mstter of fact I don't often do more than 10 or 12, but sometimes shit can happen.

Why would anyone roll across Vineland in the first place? Literally anything will get you by it. Never bothered with a deferral but I've made 16 into 14 or less a few times.Exactly!

You're allowed to defer 2 hours of your required off duty but you have to make it up on the next day's break and there's a box to check on your paper log if this is day 1 or day 2 of your deferral. So you COULD do 8 and roll but you must show a 10 the next day.
So, we get to see it on June 7, then we get to complain about it for 49 days until July 26.
I expect there will be millions of online complaints throughout social media, and likely a thousand or so actual comments during the comment period.
All of which will be followed by some slow roll protests and threats to shutdown the country!

If you're not getting paid by the hub then your company is screwing you out of 5 to 10 percent of your mileage pay, drivers are working for free while on their 10-hour break, and now they are going to make you think that they are doing you a favor by letting you work more hours per day. And you all want to blame the government or company for screwing you but most of you carry around a bottle of vaseline around your neck on a rope waiting to show them that you are ready for the next "favor" they are doing you. Maybe 5 percent will comment during the comment session but 95 percent will lie and say that they commented. The reason why you all are getting screwed is that you allow it to happen.
Personally , the deferral would help me. I like the ten hours off when I'm home but sitting around twiddling my thumbs for two hours when I'm out sucks. But that's just my unique situation where I'm not usually gone more than one night.
One size fits all doesn't work, but you can't make those who dream up the rules understand it.
