Motive Elog

The company I drive for just switched from Omnitrac to Motive elogs.
Is anyone on here using Motive?
If so, I have some questions. The office people where I work are trying to adjust some of the settings and motive tech support sucks.
It would be very helpful if you are the administrator for your elog.

Making you an admin also grants you the access to edit the elog. For a company, that really isn't going to happen. Not sure how that would work for an O/O.

As far as editing goes, the drivers here are not restricted. If it's legal we can do it.
One of the problems we're having is the yard move setting. The admin instructions say that if you go over 20 mile per hour while driving in yard move, it will automatically put you on to driving.
Our system klcks you into some kind of hybrid driving mode at five mile per hour.
It doesn't count against your drive clock, but you can drive 70 mile an hour down the interstate on yard move.

I use Motive. Not sure what they have done with the yard move settings, but speed has no bearing at all on my use of yard move. If speed changes you to driving, they have done something to modify the default settings, and I'm not sure how you do that.

that said, if you are running down the interstate on that setting and get checked, that is going to be a major violation.

That is one reason why we wanted it fixed. Everyone was so used to the other brand doing it, there was almost always at least 1 driver going down the road because they forgot to push a button before taking off. It is a very convenient feature.

After the conversations the the office guy and I have had with Motives general tech people this week, we have decided they aren't just a couple fries short of a happy meal, somebody completely forgot to put any fries in.
I managed to get them to pass the problem to the "senior tech support engineer" and she had it fixed by the end of the day (10 pm).
Now all of our trucks switch from yard move to drive at 20 mph.

I had that same problem when I worked for a company that had E-logs before the mandate. I think it was Omnitracs by QUALCOMM. I would forget to switch from yard move to driving and would have to call and get my log fixed.
Big ol' red line on my log until it got fixed.
