Most unforgiving bridges for truckers in the US

Some bridges just weren’t designed for big trucks, resulting in dangerously low clearances beneath them. The following are just a few of the most unforgiving overpasses that drivers shouldn’t underestimate.

I have a friend whose about to quit his job because they're sending him into Brooklyn, NY.

I told him stay off the New York parkway system. And to go in early and sleep on the street like I used to.

I think he's spending the night filling out applications.
The first time I was sent to the Bronx (Hunts Point) I was coming from Iowa.

I stopped at home and got my Thompson AND my shotgun. And two full stick mags for the Tommy gun.

Yeah I went into NYC with a fully loaded "assault rifle", suck it DeBlasio. 😁

I got there and it's a gated facility with armed guards and a barbed wire fence. 🤔

I never had any trouble getting in or while I was there but I got lost every time on the way out.

I only did one of the boros once. It was Staten Island. But that's easy, like NYC Lite. I too had no trouble getting in or around but got lost trying to leave.

I've hated corn mazes ever since.

Me too.

Well I didn't get lost, but I had to take a much longer and more complicated route than I should have.

Staten Island is just New Jersey plus a bridge. I've been to that container terminal like 3 times to live load bananas for Chicago. It's no big deal.

The banana dock is in the back of the yard.

I think it's run by the freakin' mob though.
Everyone who works there is Italian and when the boss is mad at one of the employees he yells at them in Italian and gives them a kiss on the forehead and then yells at them some more. I don't really understand their culture so I can only assume they're the mob.

Pretty sure that kiss is a hit order.

Yeah I blame US Xpress and their GPS. Dumbass me didn't plan it ahead and just ran. Made it more complicated than the map shows.

Thats a no too bad. A kissa ona the mout is the kiss of death.
Maybe @GAnthony can enlighten us.

This one still makes me laugh.

Isn't that the bridge that the driver was actually a local to that area?

Yeah I think so. The 2nd link I posted is for an article about the driver. There's a picture of her. You can actually see the stupid in her eyes.

Mary (Had A Little) Lambright.webp

From the article:

"When asked if she was fired, Lambright said: “The company quit. It was a very small company so they just quit."

Lambright and her husband are now without jobs."

She bankrupted her employer. But she's too stupid to realize that.

I wished he wrote another verse about it in his famous song....

"Well they screwed up that wooden span near philly last night, they screwed up the wooden posts too...

Down on the boardwalk they're gettin ready for a drive,
Gonna see how much damage those CRST boys can do,

Now there's truckers comin in from outta state,
And DOT can't get no relief
Gonna be a rumblin out on the wooden walkway, and the crumblin boards are hanging on by the skin of their teeth

Well now everything breaks, baby thats a fact
Maybe everything that breaks someday gets fixed back

Put your radio on, put the sound up quickly ,
And Listen for updates on wheel holders crashing in Atlantic City "
Wow man, I think the boardwalk in Atlantic City is known in many countries around the world. Tourists would know not to drive on it.
Crash and Roll Stunt Truck strikes again.
