Making coffee

I drink mine black...

Hot black and bitter. No sweetener or creamer or milk..

I use a Plunger, you guys might know them as a French Press. Two spoons grinds, 700ml water just off the boil, stir, press. I let is sit pressed while I have the first couple of cups, that makes 3 cups for me.

I never entered a Starbucks before China... here in NZ we have a real coffee culture, every cafe has a barista making coffee.

I used to have a french press. I need to invest in another one of them. The last cup usually has the most grinds in it....lol. See @Tazz another version of cowboy coffee, just not as messy.

I was in Caracas Venezuela on a cruise taking passengers on a shore excursion to the glass blowing factory. It was a 4 hour thing once we got there. Did it a few times so I didn't go in. Was outside and across the street was a farm??? I went over and there were rows and rows of short bushes. I walked around for a while in between the bushes. It was really nice and perfectly manicured grounds. All of a sudden a guy comes up in a golf cart. I tell him who I am and ask what the bushes were. He said it's a coffee plantation. I was like, oh man, I would love a good cup of coffee. The cruise ship coffee sucks.

He asks if I have some time and I say yes. I hop in the cart and off we go to the big white house. Lol....That's what he said, do you want to come up to the big white house for some coffee. Typical southern plantation house with the columns in the front.

He had the biggest chrome and copper machine I've ever seen. Don't know what it's called. He made me cup after cup and I was in heaven. Little cups with the steam and hot cream. I had the worst headache hours later.

I did try heavy cream once in a coffee and it makes it look weird. Like a foam with bubbles and chunks up so you have to stir it for a long time. It's gross.
Yeah that's why I quit using it. You gotta keep stirring it.
And thousand island dressing is just mayonaise, ketchup, and minced pickles.
Really?
One time I mixed ketchup & BBQ sauce as an experiment. I think that's how sloppy joe sauce was invented.
I was in Caracas Venezuela ...
Commie! :whip:

And a little tidbit. Anything that contains real cream in it reacts to plastic and will curdle and go bad in a few days. That's why it comes in a cardboard container with the inside coated.

Another little tidbit...
I have a copper creamer that belonged to my mothers parents.
Real cream (or milk) straight from the teet will last for 2 or 3 days unrefrigerated in a copper vessel...
or so I've been told.

Never tried it but I recently read that some hospitals & clinics are installing copper door knobs because of it's bacteria inhibiting properties.

@Tazz ought to know.

I use to have milk delivered to the house every few days from a local dairy. One day the glass bottle was half empty and I shook it. When I poured out a glass a lump fell in the glass. I was like WTF!!! I complained. The guy said to put a glass container of milk in the freezer and he would stop by in 1/2 an hour. He came over, poured a little out and said to keep shaking the bottle for like 2 or 3 minutes. Then he slowly dumped out the milk and a big chunk was in there. Then he says. That is how butter is made!

:stare1:

THAT'S IT, SMART GUY!!

You're dead to me.
:(

Doesn't anybody just drink black coffee anymore?????

Or maybe,I'm just the freak...:confused-96:

I've been to a Starbucks once in my life...
because it was next door to Lazyboy and I was shopping for a new recliner.

I stood there for a coupla minutes staring at the 'menu' (ninja, please. It's just coffee) like a unich in a whorehouse before I finally asked the whatever the hell you ladies call a coffee server if they had anything that resembles plain old coffee.
I wasn't impressed.

WTF!??
Starbucks, kueirigs, french presses, crapachinos...
