Let's Argue About Motorcycles

Actually I think its a kawasaki. And he's probably not riding a Harley because his department is dedicated to actually catching speeders.

The only speeders they wont catch are the crotch rockets. Don't underestimate Harley. They are way faster than they look.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

I know an inline 4 cylinder will out-perform a V-twin, but guess what. I'll take the V-twin.

I don't like looking at my tach and seeing 5500 RPM at 60 mph in top gear. I want my 1983 Honda Shadow 750 back, actually.

I loved that bike. It would idle at 60 mph. I don't remember what the RPMs were but it sounded like it was idling in 6th gear. It had all the power an 18 year old needed too. Any more and I probably wouldn't be here today, cuz I was wild & crazy with it.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

I ride a BMW. We have gas chamber parties where we burn Harleys. they have to be good for something...

guarantee you don't do it in front of any of the Harley riders I know, I would put as much money or my truck's title, anything you want up on a bet you wouldn't do it.

He's joking. Only an idiot (or an eccentric millionaire) would burn a Harley. Even if you HATE them, ... they're always worth something. They hold their value. The money you'd get from even an old junk-bucket Harley would buy a lot of firewood.

View attachment 4230 I bought it for less then for less then $10,000, can trade it in right now for almost $12,000 and could get more selling it out right, but it is staying put.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

Ok you win. But harley has been racing bikes since the beginning. And that KZ1000 is fugley!

Harley might have been racing bikes, but when have they ever won at the world championship level. I think never. Heck, the Italians have done better than that.

You sound bitter, did a biker take your wife or something? Definitely have something wrong.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

A BMW? Most BMW's are old geezer bikes. Only someone like my dad would ride one. They're good bikes, mechanically, but they're goofy-looking.

Harley is a geezer bike if there ever was one, and the Harley company even admits it. Theyare o worried about their ageing demographic that they are considering making wheel chairs and taking on AARP sponsorship. I don't think i have seen anyone under 70 riding a Harley.

what are they going to do? Come beat us with their cane?

I think it's time you get called up for a "random" cuz you've obviously been smoking some of them "tweeds".

Most of 'em are in their 40's and 50's cuz that's how old most of them are before they can afford one. But I do know one kid about 20 or 21 who has one, ... because he lives with his parents.

I'd have a Harley if I could afford one, actually. It's all about what kind of ride you want. If you want something with torque, get a Harley or one of the japanese Harley clones. If you want a bike that's not happy unless it's going 160 mph, get one of them crotch-rocket bikes and a damn good lawyer to protect your CDL.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

Most sport bike riders any more are over 40. Why do you hate harleys so much? Is it because it is a reflection of America? Did a big bad biker beat you up one day? Whatever it is we got the point!

That guy is a tool, I have also made him persona non grata.

I done it. Feel free to argue about bike's in here. We all know that Harley's rule, and all other bikes, and their riders are just jealous whiners anyway.

"Motor Harley Davidson Cycles" is like the Peterbilt of motorcycles.

(I've always called them "Motor Harley Davidson Cycles" because that's how it's written on the logo)

I knew it was only a matter of time. That's why I started a motorcycle thread. Hope it takes off. I enjoy the topic.

In my more youthful days I've owned three scooters. A '52 Panhead, hardtail with a springer front... a Triumph 500... and, an old Honda CB450. The Harley was by far the nastiest ride, hardest to operate, biggest maintenance nightmare I've ever had. It was horrible.

If I could have my choice of those three bikes, today, I'd say, "Gimme that dayum Harley." It had attitude, and, there was a lot of admiration from other bikers who wished they had the nads to give it a try. Plus, my girlfriend always got horny during a ride. I'm convinced it was the vibrations from the engine. Can't say for sure 'cause you never question a good thing.

Yeah that's another thing about a Harley. If you get one, make sure the back of the seat slopes downward towards the rear, and has no backrest. That places the female passenger's weight on a certain area, ... and also makes it so she has to hang on tight. A softail is ok, as long as the engine produces all the vibration. And you should constantly be changing RPMs, ... even on a rural road going a steady speed. Shift back and forth between your top 2 gears just to vary the engine vibration.

oklahoma has a busa in the tulsa area on the highway patrol..
