Let's Argue About Motorcycles

Duck

Sarcastic remark goes here
One time I got pulled over and I told the cop I had a dead body and 14 machine guns in the trunk. He laughed and told me to get the hell out of there.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

I wonder what that "Pig on a Hog" did to get his hog taken away? He's on a freakin' Honda. Look at the engine, .. it's an inline 4 cylinder with dual overhead cam...

I'd have been laughing at the guy.

Actually I think its a kawasaki. And he's probably not riding a Harley because his department is dedicated to actually catching speeders.

Laugh all you want.

It is a KZ 1000 Police bike. It will out accelerate and out handle a Harley any day. Harley's are heavy cruisers and don't really get rolling until they get some speed up. The inline twin cam four banger is going to wind up quick, and still have plenty left at the top end. The bike itself is lighter and more nimble, and will handle way better than a Harley.

Even a Buell can't compete with this bike. And they quit making the Buell.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

If I was a motorcycle cop I would want a Harley.

Why?

You get to ride a Harley, but you don't have to pay for it, and someone else does the daily repairs and adjusts the things that rattle loose all the time. Besides, I always hate it when I'm at a red light on a japanese bike and like 5 or 6 guys on Harleys pull up next to me. I try to avoid eye contact cuz it's embarassing. Except when I was 18, I had my Honda Shadow 750 that would blow the doors off just about any stock Harley on the road (except maybe a V-rod or something.)

As far as performance goes, the Harley is still gonna get up and go faster than any normal police CAR, and the Kawasaki isn't going to catch the super-fast crotch-rocket bikes either.

Re: Increased levels of enforcement, and where...

Nice try brother.

Neither one of these videos puts a Harley up against a KZ1000 Police bike.

The first one is supposedly a "crate" bike which infers "stock" but I have never seen a stock bike with a wheelie bar.

And the second one is simply a comparison of a V-twin to an inline twin, and the Triumph is an English bike. Again, not a KZ1000Police bike.

And I never questioned that a Harley has good straight line acceleration, but did state that they generally come on the pipe later in the curve that the inline fours with twin cam heads.

Also, the Jap bike will always out handle the American bike any day, an way.

Now lets let Sinister get back to his bitter, revolutionary spirit.

It's an awful photoshop, and I thought VILLAGE PEOPLE VILLAGE PEOPLE VILLAGE PEOPLE in large neon letters in my head just before I read Boone's post.

i wouldn't want to be a cop if they made me ride a Harley. that would be an embarrassment.

Looks like when he customized his bike, the fuel line wasn't installed properly, my first bike was an '85 ninja, going down the road, I used to be able to hit the kill switch then flick it back on and have flame shoot out the pipe 3 feet, worked great on tail gaters.

A BMW? Most BMW's are old geezer bikes. Only someone like my dad would ride one. They're good bikes, mechanically, but they're goofy-looking.

Unless you're talking about this one. I would ride this, if I could just figure out where my belly is supposed to go. The gas tank's in the way.
