Let’s argue about MPG, Wages, etc

Well it's not like we have rollover minutes like AT&T. After a 34 hour reset we get all 70 back no matter what happened the week before.
Umm, no! You don't need to take a 34. We do in fact get recap hours just like AT&T rollover minutes.
What happened the week before definitely matters when using the recap.

Let me rephrase:

If you're like me and you go home every weekend, there's no point trying to save hours because you'll have a fresh 70 anyways.

Or put another way: you can take a 34 and start fresh no matter what happened the week before.

Reinforcing my main point that not everyone is trucking the same.

Is it possible to literally never take a day off? I'd think eventually you'd run out of your time and be forced into it, but I've never tried.

I mean there's no sense working at all if you're only going to have 1 hour tomorrow after you take your 10. Then you use it...and you're done until you take 34?

There was a time when there was no reset.

Who's trying to save hours?

:headscratch2:

According to some people I'm a unrepentant hours spendthrift because I don't adhere to their arbitrary conception of a mandatory highway truck speed.

Mndriver trying to save hours.

62mph in my own pickup was nicer than expected. Always thought I'ma go faster when I have my own thing but honestly most of the time 62 doesn't feel slow at night.

IMHO the important thing is to have the reserve speed to get around stupidity quickly so you can promptly settle back down. Unlike a governed truck that has you hanging left so long that it pisses everyone else off.

A specific example in my mind is a retard who either can't hold his speed, won't hold his speed, or is intentionally dicking with you.

Or someone who gets on and won't punch it to get up to speed. Rather go around those folks. But if they finally decide to go 60 and I'm beside them, I'm stuck for a bit.

So yeah every so often I just want to go around. But I don't wanna run 65-70-75 everywhere.

When I was OTR I had a buddy that would run 55-60 MPH, I was more of the pedal to the metal type guy. He did as many miles , if not more than I did in a week. He was never stressed out.

I passed him on the interstate a few times. So one night in PA. Nobody was around on US 15 and as I was passing I hollard on the radio, Hey, XYZ company, Why are you fucking holding everybody up? (there was nobody around but us)
He was like what?:confused2:

I flipped on the incab light and then I flipped him the bird as I passed him:thefinger::rolllaugh2:

That would sound to me like the "Union" was limiting your potential earnings.
I believe they see it as insuring more union jobs are available for the good union employees.
For the good of the union dues and the union corporate bank account.
Yes. It meant they had to hire more union pukes to pay more union dues.

But it was the only way I could ever get a day off. If you had enough hours to make a team run to the west coast, that's where they'd send me. And with every fucking retard wanting to run 5 on, 5 off back when that stupid provision still existed, it meant I'd go for several days without sleep. Because it takes me 5 hours to fall asleep in a moving truck.

Sounds like a dream job.

See I've got it easy. I grew up in a truck so it's like a rocking cradle to me. Except when we hit the Jakes with the old 9400I with the rear pipes. That ol N14 makes a little noise.

The impertinent little scamp needs a snack down.
