Yep. That's not an OTR tractor though, it's too long . That's from one of their specialized fleets. JB started out hauling rice hulls to chicken farms, and had some other ag stuff they did, mostly in-state.

powered by the Series 60 too. And they'd pull like a bull too. Not uncommon to be passed by them going up hill. But they were governed to 55 MPH.Yep. That's not an OTR tractor though, it's too long . Depends on the CAT. The E-models and prebridge C-15 had a nice hump in the power curve just above 1600. The 550s made 550 @1800 and ~590 @1600. They were over 550hp from about 1450 on up. Talk about a motor that would hold high gear!Under a hard pull 1500 will reward best power.
I agree in shifting it's not needed. If your gonna pull though. Put her right at 1500rpm and use a little less throttle. Unless it's a mountain, find what throttle is needed to hold the speed you want. Yes Old Cat motor's liked lower rpm. You guys are great !!!! When I was on TTR I was getting yelled at because they said more rpm was needed. I come here and you guys want to use less rpm. Oh it's nice to be around sensible people.Depends on the CAT. But still wasn't any need to get the rpm up there shifting up, unless pointed up hill. IIRC torque peak was 1100 on those, and they'd pull hard from there, so unless you were showing off the needle was always left of center when accelerating.
2500 mile week.
You drive 58 MPH, average 53 mph. Means you have logged 47.2 hours on your logs.
Another driver drives 65 mph. Averages 60 mph. 41.7 hours on your logs.
A difference of 5.5 hours per week.
in a month, that's 22.5 hours. over the year, that's 264 hours. A full 26.4 days of driving extra you will have done.
doesn't matter if you have a fixed appointment or not. You have BURNED an extra 264 hours this year, no one else has driving the SAME number of miles.
over a month on the road you have wasted of your time.
If you can't manage to make a living off of your recap hours, you need to go back to the CDL mill and pay attention this time. You going to burn those hours into your log book one way or another. And you're wasting time at 58 miles an hour or as you say 45.5.
You have used that time in your logbook. You cannot get it back for any other use.
You have wasted your productivity time.
No different than somebody else producing 45 items per hour in a production facility versus somebody else making 58 items.
You really are not grasping the conceptIf you can't manage to make a living off of your recap hours, you need to go back to the CDL mill and pay attention this time.
I grasp your concept... it only makes sense if you repaid per round, or if, as @Mike mentioned, you are immediately loaded and unloaded. You really are not grasping the concept
Did you just insult Shaun Hannity ?I grasp your concept... it only makes sense if you repaid per round, or if, as @Mike mentioned, you are immediately loaded and unloaded.
As I mentioned, I've played it both ways in this segment. Getting there a little sooner doesn't get me anything most days. And in most cases, I dont rebook to load on the same day unless it's a very early unload appointment, and a late load appointment. This is one time where higher speeds help - between appointments. Otherwise I'd rather have the extra jack in my pocket, and not have to listen to State Propaganda Minister Hannity in the restaurant any more than necessary because I suck Off Liberals
Go shove it kid.Did you just insult Shaun Hannity ?
Maybe we know why you like to complain and argue so much... your one of those wimpy complacent Libs. Oh boy MN you were using gas I'm gonna go ahead and hit the Nitrous. FULL SEND IT !!!!
Lmao like I said I cranked open the nitro.Go shove it kid.
White, male... it dont fly. He'd have ta git a female and rugrats. So far, all the female candidates runaway screaming "SECURITY!!"Would you rather he mooch off of the government dole?
State Propaganda Minister Hannity
Let me just point something out real quick..White, male... it dont fly. He'd have ta git a female and rugrats. So far, all the female candidates runaway screaming "SECURITY!!"
We average about 45mph no matter what because of all the time we're in and out of customer lots. You can have a 70mph truck and some 80mph idiot rolling his truck ruins the whole shebang.2500 mile week.

Well it's not like we have rollover minutes like AT&T. After a 34 hour reset we get all 70 back no matter what happened the week before. You going to burn those hours into your log book one way or another. And you're wasting time at 58 miles an hour or as you say 45.5.

Grade: F - go back to the CDL mill for remedial logbook class.Well it's not like we have rollover minutes like AT&T. After a 34 hour reset we get all 70 back no matter what happened the week before.
The impertinent little scamp needs a snack down.
Although I like Hannity, your label is hilarious.
Let me just point something out real quick..
He's 13 years old. That means banging 18-25 yr old chicks in their physical prime is in his FUTURE, not his past.
He's laughing at you now, Gramps.
