Finally got around to installing the new dashcam today.

Not sure what I am going to do in regards to the inward facing camera. Not real interested in having it take pictures of me, but I’m sort of liking the idea of being able to get an instant view of inside the truck as well as outside the truck whenever I want.

Probably go with privacy mode, though, and keep it off.

Bastards are trying to still call me and can’t seem to get the message I gave up my authority and need for an ELD provider two years ago.

They are contacting me as well to get me to buy what I already just bought.

Turned on the alerts tonight, so I will now get notifications for anything this camera sees as a coachable event. Probably continue that discussion in another thread once I get a few notifications.

That said, it’s crazy what these cameras can do with AI involved. Motive has it, Samsara has it, and any ELD incorporating a camera system will likely soon have it.

I’m keeping it turned on toward me more out of curiosity than anything to see what all it will flag as bad driver behavior.

The AI is also used in the forward facing camera. I think it mainly focuses on tailgating right now which I think is great.
