So maybe I just noticed this for the first time today,but I saw a chip trailer with the brake chambers facing back on the rear axle. They were pointed right at my windshield. If one of those was to let loose,I doubt I'd have a face anymore. I've seen them on the front axle pointed inward,but never on the rear axle pointed behind the truck. Seemed to be a new trailer so I wasn't nervous of it going off,but what happens when it gets some age and rust ?
Is this safe ?

Somebody’s gotta loosen that band clamp around it on the emergency side for the spring to let go
Thanks for clearing that up. I was thinking with as much force as the spring has,it might would just blow the whole chamber apart if it rusted out.

If it gets to that point it likely aint holdin air no more anyway and gotta be swapped out

then motorbike riders should know better than to ride behind a truck.
i never did, i'd get away from a truck as fast as i could.
ya never knew when that trucker would roll it over. especially if it was a Swift, CRST, FedWreck
