I like the show, But they really do blow somethings out of proportion.. The season where they gave Jack a "Special assignment" and it turned out of be a load of Jet Fuel.. Really? It's no different than Kerosene.. But most people wouldn't know anything about that.. I would really love to go up there to go with another driver just to have the experience..

I am going to head up there for one season... (to work, not be on the show.) : )

Here is a list of companies I have been checking out... make it happen!

Ice Road Trucking Companies, Yellowknife, NWT Canada

Was he the awesome heavy haul guy? That guy rocked.

Jack Jesse was the HH guy wasn't it? This was the chain smoking kid that held his smoke between his teethe, wasn't it?

i was invited by a friend in Red Lake Ontario to come up and play a couple years ago, damn it though, circumstances wouldn't allow it.

The show though, a lot of fake BS on there, drama for the masses, but I still liked it for some reason.

If you don't want to go that far north to try it out, you can inquire with these guys. They operate trucks, as well as build and maintain, on the winter roads in northern Manitoba and northern Ontario. There are some real characters working there. I met those guys over 20 years ago when I ran thier roads for another company.

Very nice, thanks... adding it to my list!

And I enjoyed your pics on your profile... Thanks for sharing... : )

Ya, you're right, maybe next season. How's it going with you getting there next year? It's sorta late for this year isn't it?

Its late for this year and next year for me...

My plan was to do 2 years 48 states. This was my second year. Basically, I wanted to do 2 winters, and now I have. In a few weeks I am going to Fed Ex and will be mostly in Seattle and Oregon. I will do at least 1 winter there, maybe 2. I probably should do 1 year of flatbed too before I head up there...

I just want to try it to say I did... My goal is to get up there before I'm 50. I'm almost 45, so I am right on track...

Don't want to get up there and be like DREW on IRT... : )

And for what its worth, I have been wanting to do it BEFORE the show even came out...

Ice Road Truckers star Rick Yemm issues challenge to Lisa Kelly, G.W. Boles | HULIQ

This article mirrors an article written by Dave that I read about a year ago.

It may sound naive, but further down in the article, I read a statement that sounded like I wrote it... I really thought I was the only one who felt this way... Through published by someone else, these words are mine.

Real trucking, he says, is extremely difficult work, with little respect for the drivers from anyone...

“...I don’t like truck driving; I DON’T like truck driving! I don’t like doing a job and being treated like a criminal. You roll on the scale, you start sweating like you’re getting arrested, because they pull you in, they’re gonna fine the hell out of you if you did something wrong. The attitude toward truck drivers, even at places that deliver, it’s not good. Truck driving is a terrible, terrible industry.

but yet, he bought Hugh's truck and is now an o/o.

he made similar comments last year when he was in those mountain roads, that he was sick and tired.

typical trucker BS.
