I wonder if months end at the warehouse has anything to do with tax like you say.
I know they want everything out by months end to make the books looks good but, I never thought about tax.
I think I may be done with Walmart loads.

Well your company had to be authorizing that spit. So they should be paying you for the store delivery too.
Otherwise it's illegal.

Oh, I got paid for that. It was a loss though when you factor in money I already had lined up. If I had an empty as I was supposed to, my next couple loads were very profitable. More importantly, my second load of the two would have gotten me home. As it happened i ended up hauling that garbage load to Charlotte, thenhad to pull a garbage load in order to make it home in time. I'll have a permanent trailer where I'm going and in my early days of driving i would have considered that a negative attribute. Nowadays I consider it a plus.

I fully understand how any old dog would look at me. Old dogs, by the way, are my favorite people on this planet. I have plenty of them on speed dial. I have learned more about trucking, maintenance, and life from tipping a beer with them over the last three and a half years. This scenario I described in my last few posts is so common that it's shameful. I'm smart enough to not put myself in a position to be sued for libel or slander or whatever. Never said anything in any post that wasn't truth. But I will say this... I'll never understand the old dogs here that clearly drank the Koolaid. I've been lectured about a hundred times for leaving by them. I'd rather look stupid to them than feel stupid to me, I guess.

I think a lot of people get settled into their world and don't want to change it for anything. Older folks especially tend to hate change. The unknown scares them.
Younger (GeneX on down) tend to jump onto better things or even the hope of better things much quicker. We've seen too many of our parents get shafted by an employer after years of loyalty so we figure why invest ourselves so deeply.

True. I am Gen X, born in 73. My mother, god love her, is probably the most ridiculously dedicated worker I've ever met and I've watched her got hosed a couple times as a woman that has 3 degrees in nursing. I think every trucker knows when to be loyal and when loyalty is wasted. I think that based on what every intelligent driver knows, criticism from old dogs at my company is beyond insane. I don't have to care about their future, so I don't.

I'm a borderline GeneX/Millennial born in '81.
People think I'm nuts for prepping myself for hotshot based on my current income. But there's more to it than money. Don't want to take a loss but at the same time there's only so much BS of certain types that I can tolerate at any price.
Even my dad thought I was nuts and still kind of does, but he's coming around. He's looking out for trailers now. I mean I get my intolerance for BS, impatience, and ADHD from him.

Well I say kudos. We're all nuts out here in some shape or form. I'm with you on the BS portion. I'm not an O/O because I'm super smart. I'm an O/O because I hate authority. We've all dealt with the incompetence of bosses and department heads. As it stands, I have only two bosses. The IRS, and Mrs Junkie. Don't kudos me yet. I'm still waiting for my 401k to drop.
I have about 2 weeks before it vests and I get that company match. Still won't be able to leave just then but it's my nearest goalpost.

Only had one issue with them, but still got unloaded same day. Just a couple hour delay if I remember.
Still faster than a typical normal trip into Walmart, lol.

Been to Rural King twice, was thrilled with my in and out times on both occasions. Access to the docks were rough for sure. But the people were cool and the unload times were pretty quick. Not sure if that's normal or not.
Yes, they are extremely fast unloading. Never taken more than 30 minutes that I can remember.
Very strict appointment times.

Both times I went I was there the previous night, unloaded first thing. Fantastic people.

Yup. Since this thread is about Walmart, that's always been my complaint about them. Why am I staring at a green light on my dock that's been green for a couple hours before you finally page me or call me to finish your count to tell me I'm done? If there's something wrong with what you pulled that isn't my problem. That's the shipper's problem and I assure you it doesn't affect the money I am paid. Just cut me free when my trailer is empty and let me be on my way. I can't change anything by staying here while you count and repalletize this load. It's so disrespectful it's almost a joke. As the thread title says, I'm done with Walmart. Never pulling another load for them. I stopped shopping there as a result of my trucking experiences. Probably won't even be noticed but that's fine.
