I set a personal record at the Blue Beacon Truck Wash

As I passed through Oklahoma City yesterday, I decided to stop and get the truck and trailer washed. Figured I would get my 30 minute break in there and then some.

To my surprise, there was no long line, and I ended up behind a pickup that was washed super quickly, in the wash bay I went, and out in no time.

From the time I pulled into the line, to the time I pulled out of the wash bay, a total of 28 minutes. Actually had to sit out front of the wash bay for two more minutes to complete my 30 minute break.

And surprisingly, they did a decent job.

If it weren't for long lines at truck washes, I would probably get the truck washed more often.

Whenever I take the time to sit in line at Blue Beacon they must call Dispatch.

Almost everytime my next load is to a mudhole.

Can't never get by the yard with a fresh clean truck so they ain't yelling at me and telling the office I got the dirtiest truck they ever seen.

That is the whole problem right there, The line ups.
The Beacon I am sure makes good money but they could make more if they added more wash bays or could some how make the process faster.

Not sure what they could do other than build more truck washes. They run trucks through pretty fast, much faster than any other truck wash I have ever visited.

I didn't mind back when I stayed out for a while, but these days, I'm usually either on a bit of a time limit to get where I am going, or I am heading home, and I will rarely delay my trip home for a truck wash.

If they made it 4/5 bays with a Dedicated trailer wash.

You'd just attract half the guys who wouldn't sit afew hours for 2 bays.

Be basically about the same

OKC streakin' beacon has always done a fantastic job each time I've gotten my truck washed there. Too bad I don't pass thru that way anymore. They're by far the fastest and most efficient & they get everything clean. 👍

The north one, yes. I've always avoided the other like the plague.

Welp if ya wanted "brushing" and such ya should've hit the Eagle Truckwash..

But most Carriers on Account with Blue Beacon.

I worked maybe 2 places had an account deal with Eagle Wash on Russel Road

At the Grain Elevator they expected to spray our own trucks in the shop with their pressure washer for a whopping $25 bucks but the Hot Water always seemed to be gone before ya got there.

Next day send you to a muddy farm field.

Told em F-U this 1994 Model FLD is a Work Truck couldn't care less if she looks "pretty"

My company has a mobile wash company come in and wash the trucks on the weekend.
The shop also has a power washer they use to wash the truck before the mechanics work on it.
Drivers are more than welcome to use the power wash on their personal vehicles any time they want. (after they have clocked out of course :rolllaugh2:)
I have used the power wash a total of never times.

Is it heated? If it was a steamer I'd use the crap out of it. A regular cold one like I already have...not so much.

I worked for a place outside Detroit once we only "Cross-Docked"

For awhile people thought I drove for Schneider
That was actually more about Canada transfers.

Stuff bound for Ontario was Cross-Docked.

They'd bring American stuff to we all basically switched loads.

Once in awhile just switch trailers exchange paperwork.

Yep. Walmart Dedicated in Sterling, IL. If I ever get to Gary Indiana I can ask for a wash. But that poor old '16 beater might fall apart. :p
Sterling has a wash bay. Schneider is too cheap to turn it on for you guys.

Same with Marten at Tomah.

They just "don't believe in it".
