I got a ticket today for going through a red light...

Most all my friends are police officers in town and court officials. I can't stress enough the importance of going up to the judge and ask for just a fine. 99% of the time it works. Telling the judge this effects your job greatly really makes an impression on the court.

NH is very strict on teenagers and speeding. My 16 year old son got a speeding ticket and would lose his license for 3 months. He went before the judge and I went also. My son have very short hair. The judge asked what his father said about the ticket. I spoke up and said I shaved his head. The judge stood up and said, REALLY!?!?!?! I said no, he likes short hair. The judge dismissed the ticket but said if he got another ticket in one year this ticket would become active also.

Judges are NOT dicks. If you stand there and argue that you didn't do it your gonna get screwed. Admit you were speeding, went through the stop light or whatever. I'm sorry I did that and will be more careful in the future. Having this ticket on my driving record may cause me to lose my job.

DAC is for Drivers and CSA is for Companies, I had a momentary lapse of reason. But I believe (not even sure if DAC exisists anymore) but that should be a reflection of your Commercial Driving record based on what the company reports. Am I right on that??

Yes you are correct. DAC for drivers and CSA for companies. If you get stopped and get written up your company and all it's drivers get effected by you adding CSA points to the company.

DAC is a service that companies must pay a monthly service fee to belong to. If your not a member of DAC you can't report. There are other companies popping up left and right recording individual drivers. I can't remember when but the FMCSA will start to track drivers in the future.

I got a speeding ticket for getting on my Mustang to merge onto the highway. I was doing like 75 on the on ramp. The on ramp was also the exit ramp and lots of trucks. I sped up so I could get into a slot.

I went to court to explain myself. The officer was not there. They said he got called up to go to Afghanistan. The judge asked if I was speeding or not. All I had to say was no. I told the judge I'm not going to lie, I was speeding and why. He thanked me and dismissed the ticket.

When I was about 20 or so, I got a ticket for "improper riding on a motorcycle". I was on a rural county highway. I was on the back part of the seat, leaning against the sissy bar with my feet up over the speedometer & tach, but still had my hand on the throttle because it didn't have a throttle clamp. I'd ridden hundreds of miles like that already.

Cop wasn't there, and he'd written nothing on the ticket that was descriptive of what I was doing. He just wrote "improper riding on a motorcycle". Judge asked "What'd you do, ride a wheelie?" I said "No I hit some gravel when I was turning a corner & the back tire slipped & the cop thought I was fishtailing on purpose. I told him I just hit some gravel but he said 'tell it to the judge'".

The judge said "yeah, you gotta watch for stuff like that when you only have 2 wheels under you... dismissed"

They might hire you back if you get it dismissed or reduced.

My company did that twice. A guy got a ticket in his personal vehicle for tailgating & they fired him. He had a lawyer fix it & they hired him back.

Same thing when the weekend dispatcher got a DWI in her car. She wasn't fired, but they banned her from driving trucks during the week til she got a lawyer to fix it. It's their insurance company that said to fire them.

Here if the cop does not show up, The ticket is automatically dismissed. You don't have to say a word. Cops are pretty busy with courts and doing their job and everything else, You have a good chance they will not show up

That's how it's supposed to work in the USA too. If the cop doesn't show up, the prosecution has no witness. But some more corrupt "revenue hound" courts will ignore that fact & consider the citation, signed by the cop, to be his "testimony" in spite of the fact he's not sworn under oath when he fills out & signs the citation.
