A few are starting to lose their antlers. I did a little shed hunting today but didn't find any.

"The Big 9" is still holding onto his. I believe this will be the dominant buck in the area. The buck I shot this year was the previous dominant buck.

Just have to throw my spears and bag of clothes in the truck and I'm ready to head to Lake Sakawea.

No eat them. Pike are excellent.

The problem people have with them is not knowing how to clean them properly. You can't filet them conventionally because of the y bones. I get the y bones out when I clean them.

Sometimes you gotta compete with other hunters. This wolf track was posted by the postmaster, Sonya Ayson, of Chignik, AK (I lived there for about 9 years). That bigass wolf was behind her daughter and granddaughter's house. Chignik is big bear country; however that wolf ain't exactly a little guy. For the most part, village residents don't hunt wolves and bear but they're known to shoot them when the fool around the village too much. A couple of years ago, in the nearby village of Chignik Lake, a wolf killed a teacher. She was out jogging in the middle of the day. So S***t does happen.

They are slowly moving south here. I saw one dragging a dead deer 3 or 4 years ago.

They have really messed up the whitetail deer population north of here.

Super excited this might happen. The herd is healthy it's time to end the shotgun zone nonsense. There is pending legislation to support this.

@CharlieK could get his big gun out and drop a deer at a mile. What do you think @AllabouttheBS should he start getting ready now?
