Normal function, about a pint to a quart an hour.

Heavy excersize or manual labor, up to 2-3 quarts per hour.

Drinks like coffee and crystal light do more harm than good. Caffeine is a diuretic and the artificial sweeteners break down to formaldehyde in the liver as it was explained to me.

These were the general guidelines taught to NCO's to care for our troops to prevent heat injuries.

When I was in the OrANG, (Oregon Army Nat'l Guard) we went to Louisiana for our annual training one year and I went in advance of the rest of the unit, I went down 3-5 times with heat exhaustion with the last time being border line heat stroke, even though I was drinking 2 qts or water and 1 qt of gatorade a hour. I typically only drink soda and coffee now and, even when I lived in AZ, don't have any problems. I guess I'm just an odd duck lol.

Drinking too much water will leech the nutrients and minerals from your body.

Too much distilled water is especially bad.

In the old days the water came out like it was bubbling. Hard to describe. Now it's just a smooth steady stream. A water cooler is a standup thing with a big water jug on top and a hot and cold tap. Saying water bubbler, there's no mistake, you dink from bubbling water. What do you do in Canada? Stick your mouth under the water cooler and turn the valve? Animals!

See, here when you said bubbler, I was thinking they had a sodastream so yous could have fruit infused soda water.

Speaking of water bubblers. In the 5th grade I was sure I would be the only one to survive an atomic blast. We were taught to duck, dodge and hide. My place was under the bubbler.

When ya see the flash, duck 'n cover. That was kindergarten.

Great introduction to the world fer a little one.

Oh yeah, drinking. Drink as much as possible, every day. Corn squeezin's. I'd counsel all y'all ta avoid th' pale watery stuff... fishes fuck in it.

Helps with duck 'n cover stress too.
