Help finding parts for inverter mount

Good morning,

My client asked me to get him a small inverter/generator, and I need help finding the right parts. He has a small heater/fan he is going to use to heat/cool his truck.

I was gonna go with a basic portable inverter and mount it inside a tool box on the side of his truck. However, I don't know where to get the portable boxes. Where can I find one?

I am sure I can also get just L brackets that connect to the frame, but I don't know where to find them. Can you point me in the right direction?

I have read the threads I can find on here about generators- It appears there are more seamless options such as generators that can have the outlets mounted inside the truck and have a remote start. I am assuming if the generator has the option for a key start, it can be extended to be powered from inside the truck.

I will gauge what my client needs when I meet with him later, but it sounds like he wants an inexpensive alternative to an APU, just to power a few things in his cab

Here are some photos of the frame- Can y'all recommend a box or mounting hardware?

This is a truck we saw that has a beefy generator attached. Where would one find brackets for it?

You can cobble something together for about $2000 all in or spend $3000 and put in a used apu system that has the controller and interface to work better with the truck and fuel system.

installed, a low hour used system is $4000-5000. It uses diesel like the truck, includes a bunk heater for the truck and it’s plumbed to the trucks cooling system to provide heat to warm the block to start it even in -20*F temps. Yes, I live in Minnesota and have used it as such. Doing 34-hour resets during last February cold snap even in Missouri when it was -15*F I did just fine. I also have an 1800 W power inverter capable of running my microwave and George Foreman grill.

I’ve tried pieces a system together that gives me similar performance and I can’t do it by the time I get the inverter, bunk heater etc that these things can do. Those small Diesel engines are likely the biggest and most expensive part. But worth every penny IMHO.
