Favorite AC\DC song.

It's all stadium shows. I'm really hoping they add more dates like MPLS, in Target Arena or whatever it's called.

187.00 for nosebleeds at Wrigley is outrageous. We got nosebleeds for a Brewers game at Miller park once and the guys on the field look like specs of dust running around.

Welp. North American tour dates are announced.

TWO stinking shows in the midwest, both at Wrigley, and tickets are 187.00 each.

Holy crap there's a 915.00 ticket on stubhub!
WTF??!! 9 spins for a ticket?

I loves me some AC/DC but they can kiss the whole of my ass if they think I would pay anywhere near that.

I thought the idea of stadium shows was to pack as many asses in at reasonable prices. You don't pay as much, you get a so-so seat and the band still makes a killing cuz there's so many of you.

Saw them in 85.......how much different are they gonna be?

Just how OLD are you?

Yeah, here I am talking **** about your age but when I made the post about seeing AC/DC in 85 I coulda swore I saw them with Deep Purple.
Internet says no......

I was 13 in 85.

I was SO gonna quote your post and unload on that shit about age and stuff.

But you'd probably just doze off in your recliner and not hear me anyway.

We're really hoping they add more venues. Target Center in MPLS would be great. Even Milwaukee...

I'm not going to a Stadium show.

And besides if it's MPLS, I can get @Duck and @DubbleD , and my best man, and his Army buddies, and a block of rooms and we're tear up the Twicn Cities for a few days.

AC/DC has always been a "blue collar" band, if you get my meaning...so for them to charge this much for a ticket to a stadium where they look like specks through the hubble just ain't right.

I hope they get more venues.

@Keendriver buys his own plane ticket to MPLS he can come too.

Hell, why not.

...better wear man shoes though....

I thought I was on the record here for saying Who made Whom was my favorite song. Since I am not on the record I will follow that up by Thunderstruck and then What do you do for money honey.

I can tell you. And you will listen.

When I saw them in 1990, their last (but one of MANY) U.S. show on the Razors Edge Tour at MSG, they were absolutely AWESOME. LA Guns opened for them, and it just got better from there. Which ain't hard. Anyway, the show was absolutely great, even from the rafter nosebleeds in MSG. You could see Angus bouncing around like a jumping bean all you wanted, without binoculars. I remember my friends older sister admiring Brian Johnsons biceps from afar (my own being totally ignored, much to my chagrin). You WENT DEAF for the cannon in For Those About to Rock. When they releases all the dollar bills with Angus' picture on them for Moneytalks we almost caught a few. I had this ridiculous Zippo lighter that I had the wick pulled out of too far so the flame was REALLY huge and during Ride On when the lights went down, nobody had to wonder about the lack of light. I think the flame was about six inches tall. Went through Ronsonol like crazy.

It was a great...great time. And Angus bounced around like crazy.

When I saw them in 2008, almost a full TWO DECADES later, at one of MANY U.S. shows on the Black Ice Tour, they were again absolutely awesome. Same opening song, mostly same playlist even, but with a few changes - they added Hail Caesar for some reason a a few off the album Ballbreaker, one or two off the new album at the time, which were decent - Big Jack stuck in my hungover head for DAYS after. I forget the band that opened, but they were way better than LA Guns ever was, and it's sad that they've faded since then. Same program...Brian does a great job of the new stuff as well as the older stuff, his biceps get admired, mine go ignored...grrr....

Angus still bounced around pretty good, but noticeably slower. I mean like...really noticeable.

We warmed up pre-game at the Molly Wee. And returned there post game. We went to a Mexican joint after. Then Houlihans in Penn Station, I remember buying "by the slice pizza" because the only good pizza in the WORLD is from NY..... then boarding the LIRR there was the Great Escalator Crash of 08....long story...singing Janis Joplin with drunk women all the way out east...then eventually to my friends older sisters house on the North Fork, where I woke up on the floor, legs on the couch, with my coat, shirt, socks, and boxers. You'll notice I didn't say pants.

We found my pants later that morning, after the teenage daughter had left the house covering her face and giggling. The dog was laying on the couch, where he knew he shouldn't be. Apparently ALL KINDS of rules got broken.

So basically @Keendriver you should go to a show. Because even 18 years apart they were awesome. Especially if you're a;already a fan.

But...I'd expect, Angus will move even slower now, and they got cousin Steve instead of Malcolm (man when I heard about Malcolm...ugh) and instead of Phil Rudd on drums now they got Chris Slade ( I just kinda knew that was gonna happen) who was born the same year as my Dad!!!! but is a great drummer, and well versed, and should do a fine job...and there's still the cannon, and the money falling from the ceiling, and the giant bell, and giant Rosie balloon...how can you NOT want to go?

Which brings me to the venues, and ticket prices...

I don't want, nor do I want anyone for me to pay these ridiculous prices. None of us grew up rich, nor are we rich now, and so these "stadium only" tours, and $200.00 nosebleeds are simply out of reach.

Not to mention the simple lack of accessible venues, even if we were to pay these prices. Chicago is a 5-6 hour drive. With VERY limited (already FULL...meaning scalped ticket prices out the ass - parking) ...MPLS is 3. Madison (God forbid) is 3. Plenty of seats, plenty of revenue.

What gives??

Does ACDC think they're the Rolling Fucking Stones or something?

I want to go. But can't justify going. It's not the ticket price alone either. It's flights, lodging, food, drinks, and um...."incidentals". Not much of a factor since we're all kinda old too, but it COULD happen...thank god NYC horse cops are really patient dudes...props NYC horse cops...

This is a "blue collar" band.

Bothers me.

That's senility @Keendriver ...next thing you know your kids wont be letting you drive anywhere. You already get lost and end up in the wrong parking lots...

...yes I caught that too...you don't get an inch on my watch...

Seen them razors edge with la guns, ballbreaker I can't remember who opened, stiff upper lip had slash open which was random noise till they closed with mr brownstone and everybody finally woke up and black ice I don't remember an opening act. I was pretty drunk already.

Relevant? Listen to a rock station for more than twenty minutes and let me know if you don't hear em.....

Let me know how many bands sound exactly like em because they copied the sound(raise your hand if you though"balls to the wall" was acdc and not accept). Relevant, try iconic!!

Yes, Metallica was revolutionary when kill em all came out, but they did try to reinvent the wheel and got lost.

Simon wright played to fast and Chris slade has ten million bass drums he's gotta constantly beat on. I can spot who's playing from sound alone. I heard 8 seconds of the Grammys and knew it was slade.

Can't have a meth dealing hot man hiring outlaw on tour though. Phil's sound is simple and anybody can copy it, yet the replacements can't somehow?

Favorite songs:
Of the Bon era I believe rocking would be problem child. However ride on is probably my favorite. Spent many a lonely evening singing along to that.

Brian would be back in black. That song redefined an era of a band, changed rock and roll and who hasn't driven down the road screaming "I'm baaaack in bllaaaacck!!!"

I have memories, driving drunk to Taco Bell after black ice, the craziness of the garden, partying before and after the shows, and that escalator.

Ac/dc is more than a band, and more than a show. It's been the soundtrack to my entire life.....
