Favorite AC\DC song.

ac/dc is right up their with kiss

As one of the most over-rated bands of all time

Whether you like their music or not, any group that can last as long as they have, touring constantly while releasing 26 albums is not over rated.

As far as KISS goes, don't really listen to them(except for the worlds 2 best stripper song 'thrills in the night')

this is the greatest stripper song ever Shark Island - Paris Calling - YouTube

Who Made Who is one of my tops also, because it was out just as I was discovering the band, and then when Maximum Overdrive came out, and King used them for the soundtrack, I was hooked. There's even a few of his earlier books that use quotes by the band. I guess he was a pretty big fan for a little while.

There's a scene in that awful movie where the heroes are escaping through the tunnels, and there's an instrumental version of For Those About To Rock playing as background music. I really wish they'd extend the soundtrack and re-release it using EVERYTHING.

As far as being over-rated...no. All their albums sound similar, and they will tell you that. I address this at the end of post 2. They've stuck with what works for them forever. If you're going to post EXACTLY AS I ASKED NOT TO DO in the opening post, at least have a better argument then your opinion, which is so obviously wrong to begin with.

...But, they've never been like say...Metallica...where they make a few ****TY albums...then have to "reinvent" themselves. And fail. Twice.

Metallica's 1980's stuff is the official definition of what's cool. It was way ahead of their time.

Then when they "reinvented themselves" for that Load of **** they released in 1994 or whenever it was, that's when they officially entered Suckage-land and never came back. They officially got on everybody's **** list when they let their little monkey Lars Ulrich start this whole campaign against Napster because he was whining that he didn't have enough gold-plated Ferraris in his 50-car garage outside one of his mansions.

Oh, furthermore, Back in Black is the best selling album by a band ever. It is #2 in overall sales only to Thriller.

That album came out in 1980.

That's a pretty long stay at the top for being overrated.

CD shops still exist?

Silver Platters is a huge CD store, and you can also get vinyl direct discs.

The store is set up like record stores used to be, with listening booths so you can preview music before you buy it. And they have a gigantic imports section.

And if they don't have it, they will get it for you.

I'd like to get my hands on the soundtrack to the movie "Rainbow Bridge". I never saw the movie but my dad's got the soundtrack on vinyl. Jimmy Hendrix does a version of the national anthem that's NOTHING like his crappy, unpatriotic Woodstock version. I copied it to MP3 but I shortened it to cut out a bunch of weird stuff at the end.

The old man moved and left his vinyl records in the barn at his new place, and mice ate them.

Way to chime in there, Birch, but you do make a good point. I dislike classic rock stations (and channels) for just that reason. I cannot for the life of me understand why a person would pay for satellite radio, then listen to all the stuff you'd hear on FM radio on the local "mullet-rock" station. Don't get me wrong, there's great stuff on Classic Vynil on Sirius, but with all those channels, how come people aren't the SLIGHTEST bit interested in expanding their tastes a bit.

I don't want this to become another discussion about Sirius, but if you were really interested in answering the question, you could go to YouTube (via one of the links provided) and check out some of the more obscure stuff, and maybe you'd find something there. Like maybe a FAVORITE AC/DC SONG...like the thread asks.

None I ve heard em all eight thousand times sick of em just like rest of classic rock hits they play over n over n over again

Same here. I liked AC/DC when I was a teenager and all their music was new to me. The intro to "Hells Bells" was one of the first things my friends and I all learned to play on the guitar.

But every time I turn on the FM radio in my car, they have to play at least one or two AC/DC songs. Every once in a while when I get a new truck and haven't had time to hook up my MP3 player or XM to the truck's stereo and I'm stuck surfing through local FM stations all day, it's nothing but AC/DC songs. I got so tired of AC/DC a long time ago. It's not that they suck or anything. It's just that I've heard it all too many times.

Sinister, you seemed to get a little ticked when I said AC/DC was over-rated. Well Birch just helped me to realize I used the wrong word. What I meant was they're over-played. I like spaghetti but I don't want to eat it for dinner every night of the week.

Probably lots of them. Every band has their crap nobody wants to hear. Most bands and artists only put 2 or 3 good songs on every album, and they purposely leave 30-40% of their good songs off of their compilation albums. They do it to sell more albums.

It's why so many record companies were opposed to the websites where people can download music for 99 cents a song. At first they were upset that people would just download the good stuff and not buy an entire album for $16. But then they realized it's better to sell 2 or 3 good songs than have someone simply not buy anything at all, or download them illegally.

I like the new system. If a song sucks, I don't want it and I don't want to pay for it either. It's rare that I like every single song on an album. Even Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon has that one song with the annoying women howling like they're being tortured. (The Great Gig In The Sky)

Like Keendriver says, that is one woman. And that is a fantastic song. The woman is not howling, she is singing. Her name is Clare Tory.

The thing is, that album is useless without all the tracks. It is like and opera, with all the different parts that make up the whole.
